    Unusual insurance question

First born's car. On my drive. Not going to be used for months (he's overseas). Taxed and mot'ed. Struggling to SORN it, as he doesn't know where the log book is , and he's on the other side of the world. Can I still insure it as "laid up" or, by dint of it not being SORN, does it...

Internet of Things - why is this an issue?

This week, something on the news about new regulations. Stronger security (passwords, manufacturer update support obligations, etc) for IoT-enabled stuff. My question is, how would [my fridge, as an example] having a weak password have any wider security implications for me?

    Is a (under-bonnet) sound-deadening mat necessary?

For a diesel? Just wondering, as mine tore when I was faffing with the washer jets. I've repaired it - after a fashion - but was just curious as to how essential they are.

What's the knack? Avensis washer jet removal

Help appreciated. T27 Avensis. Washer jets are mounted on the underside of the bonnet, in little cutouts. For the life of me, I can't prize them out. What's the knack, trick, or special tool needed? (one has gone from pizz-weak to nothing. I have already replaced the non-return valve).
