    Anyone do ACoPs pre 1998?

Sorry, no Scunthorpe colleges on my CITB list. I suggest you try Bpec (not Btec!), or even the dreaded CORGI. The certifying body was supposed to notify them direct.

    Anyone do ACoPs pre 1998?

All my certs were issued by CITB, King's Lynn. They were the major provider, and I still have a list of centres offering their certification. I seem to remember one other national provider, possibly Btec, who were definately going then. I don't think any single centres could self certify in '97...

System boiler with no pump overrun

Imagination and electrics do not mix well. I know there might be a wiring centre which might have a permanent live, but not nescessarilly so. I know that using a live from any other circuit is not allowed, even though people with imagination often do that. I know that the first reply was...

System boiler with no pump overrun

"One is with an over run unit at the pump. This keeps it running for say five minutes after it was last powered." What? Maybe a clockwork spring bolted on the end of the pump, or maybe a huge flywheel to utilise kinetic energy. Where's the live feed coming from? "Another is using a...

Radiator efficiency (new v 25 years ago)

You can tell which people don't actually do the job, and don't even understand the problem. To Stanrog; The usual solution to your problem, is to use a radiator one size down in length. Cut the feed pipes 1" above the floor then use elbows with the horizontal tube angled away from the wall, to...

Advice on choosing a bathroom extractor fan

Any bog(!) standard fan with humidistat and overrun will do. You still have permanent live and neutral, which will run the fan via the humidistat as required. Then you replace she switched live trigger from the light for a switched live trigger from a pull cord switch. The whole circuit...

low gas inlet pressure? is this a major problem???

There are 4 probable causes of this unexplained drop (and a couple of unlikely ones). Only a competent engineer on site can identify the problem.

low gas inlet pressure? is this a major problem???

No it wouldn't. Read the original post. The measured drop is considerably higher than it should be for the (stated) equivalent length. Until someone identifies, and corrects this extra drop, the installation will not comply with regulations

can i use gravity pipes when converting to fully pumped?

"Generally the insulation will be flattened by floorboards so no need to over notch the joists" I love it when he puts down in print the proof that he's never done the job. He does it regularly, but a lot of people are still taken in by him.
