Thank you crank39 I think you are right that the brass rods unscrew, but I can't get at them. I looked at the top and the shootbolt guide is a fairly thick aluminium plate and it seems to be held by rivets. Hence the difficulty getting at them. Might have to consider drilling out the rivets...

Hi The latch on my back door is not returning fully so I suspect a broken spring. I'd like to try a repair but do not know how to disconnect the top and bottom shootbolts which seem controlled by long screwed rods attached to the gearbox. They seem inaccessible. See pics. Any suggestions, please?

Engineer arrived and repaired the keypad. It all seemed fine then keypad opened again - little securing tab broken. Wife decided for peace of mind to go for upgrade. Replaced panel and keypad with Scantronic 9651PD. reasonable price and peace of mind restored. Thanks for help and advice. Jim

Thanks for the replies. There is a replacement keypad listed on ebay - slightly different as it has 8 zones and mine has just 4. I think the retaining pin has come out of the keypad. Perhaps the engineer can clean and repair it. The system has been very reliable so this could be worth a try. Jim
