What is the difference between a good and bad boiler install? i.e. what should I be asking my installer if he is doing/using? Also what is people's experience of poor installs leading to faults - what goes wrong and why? is it always sediment in the pipes?

Just to check a stainless heat exchanger would be better bacause it's less likely to scale up/corrode/invite aliens into my house? So bosch is not so good on this front? But people on here seem to rate the CDI and it won boiler of the year or something so they must be doing something right...

Thanks Ian for a very comprehensive reply - I have manufacturers that lie/bend the truth to promote their products. Does SEDBUK not include an element of heating DHW because the differences in efficiency for the i, si or CDI boilers are all within 1% IIRC
