    Hot Water cylinder size?

A minimum 300 litre storage unit fully pumped supply outlet. If energy running costs are of secondary importance then I would go for a 500 litre unit to guarantee adequate capacity.

Poor hot water pressure. Cant figure it out.

Best plan now is to have hw outlet replaced by a supply takng the lowest route possibe to your hw outlets (bathroom and kitchen) - any experienced plumber will immediately recognise what is wrong with your existing unorthodox arrangement/hw pipe route. The original plumber did'nt understand the...

    please help me CORGI

AAAAAgggggghhhhhhh- pushfit!!!!!! Plastic Pipes???? You have already hung the boiler!!!! - completely illegal - will it stay on the wall???? Have you also drilled the wall for the flue??????? Your partial installation work is quite illegal. There are installation requirements called...

    please help me CORGI

Few installers will feel comfortable installing your boiler and then have to 'suck it and see' if the rest of the installation is satisfactory, assuming of course that your choice of site is acceptable with regards to flueing etc. We are also justifiably quite often cynical when confronted by...

Poor hot water pressure. Cant figure it out.

The hw output union on the top of your hw cylinder (in the centre of the dome) is furred up and constricted - this happens in time. Remove the pipe at this outlet and clean the union in situ to restore flow. Don't forget to shut off cw supply from cw storage and drain off via hw bath tap first...

    ---- radiators going cold

Flow/return pipework undersized- inedequate flow rate or boiler bypass problem? I get the feeling that its a boiler based problem since it should respond/sense the cooler water returning and fire up to reheat especially since it's on max stat setting. The trv's are highly unlikely to be all...

    netaheat no main burner lighting

A replacement complete gas valve is £175.00 +vat (trade at Curzon) if the pilot assembly checks out as ok.

    netaheat no main burner lighting

The Netaheat intermittent leak is easilly repaired. The gaskit seals for the two panels on the heat exchanger are cheap and relatively easy to replace once the boiler is drained down. Get an RGI to sort the gaskits and replace the pilot mercury ffd. There's a lot of life left in a mk11, all the...

    Replace PRV...

Another problem  which quite often occurs is to be given a 'generic' prv by parts suppliers which are not a direct swop manufacturer's replacement and minus sealing washer. - bicycle accessories are also useful

    Replace PRV...

Did'nt mean to preach but it's customer operating controls only for the general public otherwise it's RGI and/or qualified experienced electricians for secondary controls, paid or unpaid. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Changing a prv is apparently simple till the boiler flow/return...

    Replace PRV...

Unfortunately, that's only renewing half of the contaminated valve seat/seal assembly - a quick fix that may not work. The term work in the meaning of the act includes all gas and non-gas components in repairing a gas appliance.

    Replace PRV...

No, get a RGI to change the prv.

Baxi Solo 2 50 RS Wall Boiler.

Pilot injectors are easily partially blocked and the pilot flame is not vigorous/large enough to heat th/c. Needs an RGI to strip out and carefully clean pilot orifice and rebuild. Some pilot injectors are probably best replaced. He will also test inspect the boiler and ensure its safe...

Potterton Profile 100e Pump continuously on, odd firing

When you switch off the programmer ch/hw there should be No switched live to the boiler. The pump will only run for a short time after boiler firing to enable wall hung high output boiler to cool itself (Just like electric fan on car). This is why pumps are wired from boiler and controlled...

    New Boiler, and 15mm pipe?

Let's not forget that any new combi must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions and ALL modern 28kw combis will require a 22mm gas connection. It's likely that the gas supply into your flat is 22mm and then hopefully branched at the kitchen into twin 15mm's i.e. cooker and...
