it's an open vented system - works fine. The tf1 is on the return pipe, vertically above the boiler. it's always been like this, with the heating on, but when the burner goes off, and pump overrun continues, it was more noticeable.

Has anyone else got a TF1? I have one fitted on my central heating return pipe by the boiler, and it makes a sound when on (when boiler is not firing but pump is on overrun it more noticeable) - sounds like water velocity noise coming from it. I've bled it and some air comes out of the air...

yep i removed that, the problem is if I fully tighten it by hand the arrow doesn;t face in the downwards position as required!

Hiya - am just fitting a TF1 filter, and want it on the return vertically, going downwards, so use the red o-ring and spacer as the instructions say - but the inlet/outlet port doesn't fully tighten to the body with the arrow pointing downwards! Is this going to leak, anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for your help :) I usually use boss white, but to be honest my boss white is "hardening"! so time for a new tub. I have found that brass olives are poor compared to copper ones that seem to compress better!

Just a quick question, I've made many compression joints over the last few years, but having made a few this weekend, 1 of them is seeping, a few drips per day. I used a copper olive, and some boss white on a 22mm copper pipe! It seems crazy. Anyone had this before?

the pipes are in a notch, both in same notch, and I have lifted 2 boards, they go on to run into bathroom floor, there's not very much play. I'm hoping I'll be able to get a compression on tomorrow as there's about 5-8 mm gap between the 2 at best!
