    ok i get you now, the boiler has a permanent feed instead of a switched live from the wiring centre, and the pump operates when the boiler tells it to, ie from the pcb... no wires from the pump to wiring centre. :oops:

    ok i see, so the boiler is wired up in the wiring centre as normal (L N and EARTH), and the pump has a swtiched live, from the pcb to it, which will already be wired by the mfr...?

    do the rads get hot when CH is on (with the TRV sensor heads removed) If so, the sensor head is faulty ... otherwise could be an airlock / sludge blockage... is system properley balanced? lockshiled vakves open at all?

    high level cisterns usually have a metal washer in the flush pipe outlet, where it connects to the cistern, to reduce the pressure slightly to stop splashing..!!

    reset the boiler by turning the switch off (usually near the boiler) and on again, or by isolating the 3 amp fuse from the spur that supplies the CH and HW controls. then turn the power back on again!

    I hope somebody is able to help me. I am trying to find out for my coursework the opeartion of a gas cooker and gas fire. I have searched the web and not found anything helpful at all. I suppose this is the correct forum to ask for help in? I know a fire uses piezo-electric spark...
