    PTFE tape or Liquid?

Is the liquid as good or better than ptfe tape for rad tails? Also when fitting copper, should ptfe tape be wrapped around the olive? Thank you for any advice.

Inlet on radiator now on the opposite side

Probably a stupid question but do l need to open the valves and turn old trv up to max. The pipes are blanked off at the mo, but when the heating is turned on, both old pipes remain cold. Is that because the valves are closed? I thought the pipes would still get hot even with no rad connected.

Inlet on radiator now on the opposite side

I have the trvs and it states they must be installed on the inlet. Being quite old, l was thinking the old trv wouldn't be bidirectional meaning that is the flow/inlet pipe.

Inlet on radiator now on the opposite side

On my old radiator (probably installed 15 years ago) the trv was on the right hand side. The new rad has the inlet marked on the left. Before l cut and alter the pipework, can l assume the the flow pipe is the one that has the old trv on it, being it's fairly old? Thank you.

    What a mess

I'll be redoing some panelling for a new customer, which was apparently done by a builder. As you can see, it is a mess and can't be left like it as everything is being painted. What is the best way to do it so the angles line up with the next section of panelling? Should there be a straight...

    Bi-directional TRVs

I know the bi-directional trvs can go on either flow or return pipes but are they reliable and if possible do any of you always just fit on the flow pipe anyway?

    SMALL GAP

After fitting the handrail to the newel post, l have a 1mm gap as shown. How can l make this invisible? What would be the best filler to use on this oak? I will using Osmo oil to finish. Many thanks.

    15mm to 22mm?

I'm not really interested in all that. It's only to do with emissions etc blah blah blah The conservatory is insulated above and has ceilings and warmed up well enough with electric storage heaters before it was insulated, so l'm just going to do it.

    15mm to 22mm?

Yes have a combi and flow and return is 22mm from the boiler. But 15mm flow and return coming down to feed downstairs rads is what l meant.
