I'll be redoing some panelling for a new customer, which was apparently done by a builder. As you can see, it is a mess and can't be left like it as everything is being painted.
What is the best way to do it so the angles line up with the next section of panelling? Should there be a straight piece on the bottom right of the angled section?
Thanks

Both the two “frames” to the left are in wrong position (overhanging where they should be) and need to come off and be replaced .
If you google “ how to panel stairs” you will get visual guides to cope with the angles on the stairs .

The person who did that, were they wearing a stetson and had a white stick?

Thanks for your helpful answer. I'm doing the decorating and just been asked if l can do it. Should have known better than to ask for advice.
If it were me i would advise the customer that it all should be removed and done properly. If you can do that then great. If not, they should employ a real carpenter etc. Anything else is just a bodge.
