Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

It still drips after a flush and filling. Pouring another 100ml of water in shuts the valve off. No dripping. I'm waiting to see if it starts again.

Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

I've put some coloured cleaning fluid in to see if it appears anywhere. Is the thinking here that the water is going into the syphon but not out into the toilet or leaking externally? Should I be replacing the brand new syphon? Or sealing it better somehow? I tightened the flange at the bottom...

Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

If it is a slow leak it's only gone down at most 5-6mm since yesterday evening.

Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

Cheers I'll try that tonight. I did wonder if it could be sensitive enough to be losing a tiny amount somewhere and constantly drip refilling. Didn't think it was that accurate but definitely worth a try.

Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

"Viva Skylo Dual Flush Syphon". That's also new as I was fixing an external leak on the inlet so just replaced the lot as its cheap enough. I wouldve went for one of those more modern arm-less fill valves were it not for the siphon being in the way.

Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

I don't think the ball is getting caught. I have kept an eye on it to make sure its not hitting the sides. It's dripping very slowly after filling. Not fast enough to over flow. I guess it would happen eventually though. The whole situation is made worse by the fact the cistern is about 2...

Toilet fill valves dripping. Tried 3 different ones!?

Can anyone tell me the likely reason 3 different brand replacement toilet fill valves arms all won't stop slowly dripping? They are the ball float type on a high level cistern. I've tried the water level at different settings. I'm getting a bit bored of getting up on the ladder and fiddling...

    Help cleaning limestone patio

Thanks. I asked joint-it directly and to be fair they got in touch to give me lots of advice about limestone in general not just their product. He went out of his way to help. I can live with the jointing for now although I agree with your comments (for the price I paid). Could the cloudy...

    Help cleaning limestone patio

Cheers, it was joint-it simple. Ive emailed them to see if they can help. Im not too fussy but just want the patio to look reasonably clean. The odd stain is not a big deal. Hopefully something can shift this all over mess tho. Not that impressed with the jointing. It comes away like sand if I...

    Help cleaning limestone patio

I'm looking for suggestions on how to clean the cloudy mess on our "black" limestone patio. It's not been sealed. I was happy with the fact it wouldn't be black unless it was wet. I've no problem with it being grey. The thing is I think the installers left the grout stuff sat on it when it...

    UV facade

Does anyone know of any alternative options to use for a membrane behind open joint cladding timber rain screen walls? The only thing I've found so far is Tyvek UV facade which is probably great but not cheap. It needs to be black, little or no markings, breathable and waterproof. Thanks!

    No return valve on combi

Well that was all very interesting and I definitely know more now than I did a couple of days ago :-) Thanks everyone for your advice. taxes: is that specifically for the version of the combi fitted nov 2008? or did he check the latest build?

    No return valve on combi

I think I'm getting the general idea now. Please correct me if I'm seriously wrong. The non return valve would go on the cold feed into the boiler. It is a safety precaution which is only actually needed while the loop for filling or topping up is open (which in my case is the plastic key...

    No return valve on combi

Sorry just noticed the questions in this comment. I'll try to look at it tomorrow to see what the valve looks like. The section of the manual I quoted from were for initial filling.

    No return valve on combi

Thanks. Good advice and suggestions. It's just a bit of fact finding anyway so I might have a slightly better idea of what might be going on. Personally I think based on the instruction manual and advice given by ianmcd, CBF and others, it sounds unlikely the water is being contaminated...

    No return valve on combi

Ok so this begs the question, why did the installer mention to me at a later date that they didn't put a non return valve in and that I probably should .. though it's not a big deal? Haven't seen him in years or I'd ask him directly. It just left me worrying that the drinking water on the...

    No return valve on combi

There's a section in the install manual which says this: "Isolate and remove filling loop connection to system or if using the optional integral filling connection (C) (not supplied with the boiler) remove key (D) and place in its storage position (E) on the bottom cover of the boiler."...

    No return valve on combi

Is that a non return valve which would be manually fitted or come as part of the combi? Also do you mean contamination of drinking water? Sounds like I just won't know unless I get a service and check everything is in order.

    No return valve on combi

Hi, It's a Worcester Bosch greenstar junior 28i fitted nov 2008. I think the non return valve would be on the cold feed but I don't know. I heard something about protecting from contamination of the drinking water. Ta.
