Thanks to everyone who replied to me! I didn't realise that there is different types of stainless steel. I tested my saucepan lids and some are magnetic and some are not! Time will tell if the sink was a good buy or not!

I've just purchased and installed a stainless steel kitchen sink. Its supposed to be 0.9mm thick stainless steel but doesn't react at all to a magnet! Have I been conned? Anyone know about the differing qualities of stainless steel? Saying that it looks good and has a 15 year guarantee!

Hi there! I have a Potterton Gold 24HE boiler that makes a noise when turning the hot taps on in the bathroom but not the kitchen! It does not make a noise when using the central heating. Boiler is working fine apart from this noise. Anyone Help with what the problem could be?

I own a studio flat that has problems with condensation in the lounge/bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are separate. The lounge has double glazed windows with trickle vents, the walls have been cavity filled, it doesn't seem to matter if the heat is on or off, the windows still stream with water...

Thanks for both of these replies. We actually had it serviced just before we went away and the engineer had problems relighting the pilot and did it with a match in the end! Have managed to get it alight again, so perhaps the answer is not to turn it off!

I have a Myson Marathon 100B boiler which had been turned off while we were away for a time. Having trouble relighting the boiler as it seems there is no spark for the pilot light. How can I test the spark electrode to see if it is working? Roger

I am fitting a UPvc door and frame in my porch and am having a problem with the door catching just on the lock. Have 'toe and heeled' the door but still not locking correctly. I've noticed that the 3 hinges have an allen key mechanism inside. Can I get any adjustment by using these? Roger
