I've just purchased and installed a stainless steel kitchen sink. Its supposed to be 0.9mm thick stainless steel but doesn't react at all to a magnet! Have I been conned? Anyone know about the differing qualities of stainless steel?

Saying that it looks good and has a 15 year guarantee!

I once bought some super-strong magnets with the intention of making a magnetic wall holder thingy for saucepan lids. Luckily I discovered that the stainless steel lids were not magnetic before I started making the thing...

Thanks to everyone who replied to me! I didn't realise that there is different types of stainless steel. I tested my saucepan lids and some are magnetic and some are not! Time will tell if the sink was a good buy or not!
