    Concealed Themostatic Shower Valve

Thanks Denso13. You were right! It took a bit of brute force and a squirt or two of WD40, but the piston part of the cartridge was indeed stuck in the valve. Job now sorted!

    Concealed Themostatic Shower Valve

Thanks for link. I don’t think so, although I’m away from the job now. So far as I could see the receiving pin was not removable from the pipe work, or at least it didn’t seem to be part of the cartridge itself. Will have to take another, longer look tomorrow!

    Concealed Themostatic Shower Valve

Thanks for replying. No. What’s left in the wall fitting is simply an up/down pin - same sort of thing you’d see on a radiator stat.

    Concealed Themostatic Shower Valve

Can anyone help please? Thought this would be a simple job, but I was obviously wrong! I have a Tre Mercati Milan shower on which the cartridge seems to have failed. My original docs for the shower shows that the cartridge was a 63230, so that’s what I ordered. The part having arrived looks...

Toilet Flush Problem - new toilet

Thanks again. Will try what you suggest and let you know how I get on, although I won’t get a chance to get back to this until early next week now. Yes, the plastic piece is simply a diverter that directs the water to both sides. The original thought was that this was missing, but it is in...

Toilet Flush Problem - new toilet

Don’t think so, thanks, but it’s something I will double-check. Having refitted it around 10 times now, i’d Hope that I’d not have done so every time, but it’s worth another look. I’ve pretty much tried everything else!

Toilet Flush Problem - new toilet

Thanks. A bad casting was the original suspect and so a replacement pan was supplied. I’ve been assured that the replacement was tested before they sent it out, but whilst I’ve no reason to disbelieve them on that front, I can only say that the performance is no better. Is it that likely that...

Toilet Flush Problem - new toilet

Good thought, thanks, but it's bang on. We don't seem to have any blockages and we've also tried getting the cistern a little higher to see if it improves flow, although I would expect it to cover the whole pan even if the flow was weak. Really scratching our heads!

Toilet Flush Problem - new toilet

We've recently installed a new back to wall pan with concealed cistern in vanity unit and have a problem with the flush. The flush doesn't cover the whole pan, pretty much missing all of it from around 2 o'clock to 7 o'clock if you think of it as a clock face. The cistern is filling to the line...

    HB Taps

Can anyone help please? I'm trying to find spare parts to repair one of a pair of a wall mounted bath taps, but can't work out the make. The only identifying mark is "HB" (capital letters) embossed on top of each of the taps, but I can't find this make anywhere. I'm guessing it may no longer...

Poor Shower pressure - Unvented System

Believe it or not, this problem is still ongoing! Latest theory is that there is deifintely some blockage in the pipework somewhere. If it's not a stupid question, could anyone tell me how someone goes about tracing a blockage somewhere in the pipework? I guess we can (probably) narrow it...

Poor Shower pressure - Unvented System

Thanks for the further thoughts Steve. I still have the twin button Quartz control, but I understand that the processor unit has been changed. at first I was still able to select either standard or boost settings, but this now defaults to the latter. I think the supply into the house is 22mm...

Poor Shower pressure - Unvented System

Thanks. Good question! I'm not sure of the answer, but I suspect not. Could you explain the pros & cons a bit more please? Why, for example, would this have an adverse effect on shower flow if nothing else was turned on?

Poor Shower pressure - Unvented System

A quick update! We're still struggling with this and original plumber seems to have washed his hands of the problem. I'm now looking to get another opinion elsewhere. Rate of flow at the garden tap is 30 litres per minute and pretty good. I accept that the Kinetico water softener does slightly...

Poor Shower pressure - Unvented System

Thanks Dave. So far as I know the cold mains supply is all at least 22mm and I am assured that the system has been checked for debris, etc. I don't know about the pressure reducing valve and where the shower supplies are taken from, but will get this checked out. Stop cock is fully open. I...

Poor Shower pressure - Unvented System

Can anyone help me with some ideas on this? I am completely non-technical when it comes to plumbing, but we have just had an Ariston unvented cylinder installed following a loft conversion. My problem is that pressure/flow to the all the house taps seems fine, but the flow to the showers is...
