Found behind low level kitchen cabinets. Can anyone elaborate on it? I know MICC was originally installed very early 1950’s.

Me asking for the make and model in order to get the manufacturers instructions is not helpful?

    Shower electric cable

Can you see the manufacturers name? Are there model details anywhere, perhaps underneath? Personally, I don’t like the quality (lack of) of workmanship which leads me to believe that its not safe.

    Shower electric cable

I going to ask, is the picture upside down? Apparently not! Does the grey cable actually go into the shower at the top? Or the side? Or the bottom?

Unless it was wired by a monkey and the switch was switching the neutral!

    Dimming LEDs - options.

Yes you can use Varilite v-pro dimmer modules in a drilled blanking plate but keep in mind the holes shouldn’t be circular, they have 2 flat edges to stop the module rotating if retaining nut becomes loose. If you over tighten retaining nut it can hinder switch clicking in and out smoothly...

    Dimmer lubrication

If the dimmer module retaining nut on the front of the plate is too tight, that can lead to a sticky switch. Though I cant see how this would tighten by itself.

    Bulbs constantly blowing!

I’ll suggest that it could be poor contacts between the lamp and the lamp holder. Poor contacts = overheating. You don’t have issues with the chandelier because it could be newer? Before you go poking fingers/screwdrivers/chisels/hammers into lampholder, I suggest switching off at consumer unit...

    Dangerous fitting or dangerous bulbs?

For what its worth, an issue Ive come across before with these, is lamps of too high a wattage being used. A fitting had ‘max 20 (or 25??) watt’ on a crispy label but end users were using something like 50 or 60 watt lamps. The crumbling lamp holder and wiring were very nicely cooked when I had...

    USB charging points

My slightly old Samsung tablet charger outputs 5.3 volts and my newer iPad charger outputs 5.2 volts. You may find that a USB socket takes longer to charge your tablet.
