what about disconnecting and make safe the live from the supply(red wire) and connect the yellow SL wire ?

that is what i am asking it is a SL wire can i wire it to another connection in the block ?

like i said as it is wired now the switch is in the off position but the pir works, the switch is not working

well got it working it was the neutral wire that had gone brittle and snapped, just got to get it working from the switch now.

I decided to change our outside pir floodlight for an led one as it's 20 years old problem i have is there are 4 wires going to a terminal block earth,red,blue,yellow but the new led light has only 3 wires blue,red and earth hw do i wire it up here is a picture of the old wiring.John
