So BAS you are arguing because I flit from question to question like an excited 5 year old asking questions to the grown ups? If that's the case I'll stop asking questions. I ask questions as I come across things or if I spot things in my flat/work/general life. I'm noticing everything...

    Ze Query

Ok basically I'm confused because I was under the impression that pipes have to be bonded at their first point of entry before any branch work. The main bonding conductor to the incoming water does not go back directly to the MET but goes to the shower CPC in the next room. This to me is...

Sorry BAS I forgot you're a clever dick who knows everything and has never needed to ask for advice in their life. I'm sorry that I'm below you in the scale of knowledge in this chosen subject and that you have to stoop down from your high throne to entertain the 'little' people like me...

I have no gas pipes and the only pipes on display is in the airing cupboard. If it's connected back to earth via the shower cpc. Does this defy regulations?and if so how?

    Ze Query

Ok so the plot thickens. If I now take a visual look at my water pipes in my airing cupboard I can trace the bonding cable back to the shower in the next room and find that the bonding orginates from the earthed point here and follows the fault line of the showers circuit conductor. So it is...

    Cable seals

Anyone recommend any seals to use when taking a cable outside through a brick wall?

I know how to work a camera but like I said my laptop is broke so can't upload them and hey I get terminology wrong just like some people do! A mistake I made and apologised for :p

Thanks ST1 but I got it. ;) I was just concerned as to why this setup has been applied as I've never seen/nor heard of it before. And also wasn't sure if I was allowed to open the cover of the cut out to check (which I presume I'm still not) But the system is still earthed so the concern...

I understand that but apart from what looks like two main bonding conductors which run to the cut out, I can't see any in my CU MET.

    Ze Query

I did think that which begs the questions 1- why has it been done like that? 2- (before I do my continuity, need to find a wander lead of sorts) if they are not my main bonding conductors what are they for? And where are my bonding conductors earthed to???

Yes so I can get used to filling out certificates and the tests. Sorry your right I mean cutout not meter. Completely wrong I'm very sorry

Not a bad idea John. BAS I will put up pictures later if I remember. I did the Ze for a EIC and with all bonding in place (main earthing disconnected) the result was 0.13 ohms

So the main earthing conductor runs from the meter to the MET bar that is in my CU which my circuit protectors run to. But my two main bonding conductors, one running to my water pipes in the airing cupboard and one to the kitchen, both originate from inside the meter not the CU. I have yet to...

    Ze Query

My main bonding conductors on a TNCS system as well as my main earthing conductor are connected to my distributors meter. When doing a Ze I can't disconnect the main bonding conductors because the meter is sealed therefore giving me' parrallel paths. Would I write this as a limitation on a...

Cheers Mal. Yeah the shower and boiler stayed connected. Lights came out but their is a transformer in the lights and kitchen ring had a washing machine I couldn't remove. All limitations noted in the EIC. :)
