I Managed to have a look at the Doors post xmas and measured the distance from the glass on all corners and as expected the door does not appear to be sitting square in the frame, so looks like I need to make some adjustments. My only questions is how do these doors...

    Draughty uPVC patio Door

Thanks for the responses, however it has prompted a few more questions. What adjustment is required (assuming it isn't toeing/heeling)? And how do you actually make it seal, I.e. not draughty

Thanks for the response. I was hoping that there was something that could be applied to the walls to seal it all, however looks as though that is not possible

Dealing with peeled paint following wallpaper removal

Hi I recently removed some wallpaper from the wall and in some places the paint has also peeled off the wall back the plaster (see picture below). I am looking to paint the walls ultimately and wondering how I prep the peeled section so that I end up with a good smooth finish to paint on. I did...

    Worchester Bosch DT10RF to Nest/Pre-heat

Hertsboiler and ianmcd for your input. Ianmcd that was originally what I was going to do with the live and neutral until I realised there was a alternative on ST10 and was thinking it may be easy to have less wires in the ST10 terminals. You have however pointed out the downside if using the Ls...

    Auto bypass problem

Hoping someone can help. I have a honeywell Du144 ABV fitted, I have noticed some rattle from it recently. I thought I would see if it was functioning correctly or not. So before starting the heating today I closed the valve completely. After 15 mins I had a feel of the bypass pipe and it was...

    Flow problem in CH

Hi, Hoping someone can help advice on a course of action to help with a Kettling Boiler. (Potterton Suprima 40L) I have posted in the past and received some good advice, but got to the point where it is now making a fair bit of noise. Boiler kettling treatment

Agile, thanks for your suggestion. It's good that the input power is OK. I am pretty sure it's kettling, as it sounds like a kettle boiling. It also makes popping sounds. However I am not an export, so I could be wrong . The boiler is due a service soon, so will see ask the rgi, unless there...

    Boiler kettling treatment

Agile I followed the FAQ as you advised, my response was on page 1, but a few more comments were added in the mean time. When I did the test I got 0.040 x 321 = 12.84 KW. Not sure if that helps you identify anything? Seems a bit low to be me?

    Boiler kettling treatment

    Boiler kettling treatment

Wonder if someone can provide some advice on treating boiler kettling or possible causes. My Potterton suprima 40l is kettling a fair bit. All radiators heat up fine and equally, it's just the boilers that's noisy. The kettling occurs on both heating and hot water. Abv valve set 0.45 and pump...

No Hot Water, Faulty Motorised Valve?

EFLImpudence, thanks for input, its much appreciated. I am happy to take the cover off and perform the test you have suggested. Out of interest is this to test that the micro switch is operating correctly when the valve reaches the end stop (by manual selection)? By works, I assume you...

No Hot Water, Faulty Motorised Valve?

EFLImpudence thanks for your response. I measure the voltage using a multimeter. I am not sure the valve is moving as I can't hear it. When I set it to manual nothing happens, unless the CH is calling for heat, then when I latch in Manual HW is heated. I tried move the valve to...

No Hot Water, Faulty Motorised Valve?

Boiler does not fire when the controller is demanding Hot water. Heating is working correctly, ie boiler fires on Stat demand. Boiler is Potterton Suprima 40L, open vented system with 2x2 MV. The valve for hot water is a Honeywell valve. As the wiring centre is near to the valve I have...
