    Shaping edge of MDf

Thanks for your replies. The Trend router bit is £38, there is a Erbauer bit for £12. http://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-rounding-over-bit-shank-31-8-x-17-5mm/33100 Obviously the Trend is going to be much better quality, but is the Erbauer going to be so bad? Is it worth investing in Trend, I...

    Shaping edge of MDf

I have a peice of MDF; 1000 x 1000, and 18mm deep. I want to take the edge off on all 4 sides (as per the pic). If I use a sander I'm not sure it will be perfect finish, Or will it? Do I need to router it off, or do it some other way? Thanks in advance.

    Light bulb blew up

I switched on the ceiling light this morning, there was a loud bang and this happened. The remainder of the bulb is still in the fitting. Any idea why this happened, do I need an electrician or can I just replace the bulb and carry on? Thank you in advance.

    Fixing mdf

Thanks for your quick response gents. Foxhole; when you say 'shelves could sit on plastic blocks' do you know the proper name so I can find them on the Internet? I could make sure the shelves are 500mm wide maximum, does this mean the shelves could sit on plastic blocks, and therefore no...

    Fixing mdf

I'm building a freestanding bookshelf out of mdf (for cheapness). I need to fix the shelves by putting a screw through the side of the bookshelf (mdf), and then into the edge of the shelf (mdf). I'm just a little concerned that when the shelves are loaded with books, the self might not...

    Damaged lawn

    Used van

My current van (Combo), is an ex BT van, considering the abuse I've given it, it's been very good over my 5 years of ownership. I'd be more than happy to take another from BT (Transit) this time, but where would I find one. The guy who sold me the combo no longer has a contract with BT.

    Used van

I'm about to buy a used van, thanks for the guidance on here it's going to be a Transit. I've seen a few on line and have spoken with the dealers, the good value vans are ex-lease, for example purchased by the dealer from 'Burnt Tree' or 'Enterprise', is it a bad idea to by an ex-rental...

    Plug lifter

In order to lift the plug in our bath, you have to turn this big chrome knob to the left. Our chrome knob has come away from the bath slightly, our twin boys (aged 2) like to put their fingers in the gap, but then cry when their fingers get nipped. How do I tighten this? There's a hole...
