    Ip65 bathroom lights advice

Like a dream, thanks! The push fit connections on the ones I bought were pretty fiddly. I messed one of them up, fingers crossed they are now secure. Onto the living room lights next - going from a multi spot to a single light and there's a whole lot of wires.

I'll be long gone by the time these bad boys fail. The suspect light was indeed the only one working, great advice from all. Thanks!

There was only one transformer, on the light above the shower. I removed it. Ended up buying these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/luceco-ftype-fixed-fire-rated-led-led-downlight-white-6w-600lm/7046t

Well I managed to get them done. Only one is lighting up so I'd better rip them all back out tomorrow. Should have bought that connecter....

    Ip65 bathroom lights advice

Very good info, thanks. I was wondering about the transformer on the shower light. I've had a dig around the loose insulation and it looks like it can be shifted away from the light units. Off to screwfix! Oh, will the aurora lights still require the connector block that you mentioned earlier?

    Ip65 bathroom lights advice

Thanks, no there's just roof space above. There is some loose insulation present though, and I think some of the lights are pretty tightly packed in by it, which is a concern.

My lights are looking rusty so I thought I’d replace them. Only the light above the shower looks fire rated, the other 5 not. Could you look at the wiring and let me know if anything looks beyond a DiY install? Thanks. Shower: The others:

Toilet blockage, Soil pipe leaking outside

Cheers for all the advice lads but the only way I'm going up a ladder is if it's down a hole! I did manage to get the plastic pipe off today, had the drain rods down the stack, they reached near the bottom but no amount of prodding and twisting worked. Did another hour rodding from the other...

Toilet blockage, Soil pipe leaking outside

Well he came and advised removing the plastic pipe from the toilet end - then pulling the T joint end out. Then he buggered off. :? I ignored his advise and ****ted the thing with a big plank. Will. Not. Budge. I did manage to disturb another part of the asbestos pipe though, so now I...

    Cable confusion.

Ok the electrician/plumber :? came today. (I got him in to look at some plumbing and grabbed him for a chat about the electrics, so no testing was done). He says there are two slots available on the consumer unit. I mentioned that the yellow box is not fused and he agreed. I turned...

Toilet blockage, Soil pipe leaking outside

I tried to dislodge the plastic pipe but no go, it won't budge! In fact it's leaking a bit from the old asbestos pipe now so I must have knackered that too. Great! Fella coming tomorrow to take a look and if he can't sort it he knows a builder, maybe he can replace the whole thing...

    Cable confusion.

But before that... found this above the garage, whether it's powering the garage light bulb or not, I dunno. Could have gone up but probably would've had to be rescued by the fire brigade, I'm scared of heights. Electrician coming tomorrow.

    Cable confusion.

It's not working but that could just be the bulb, I'll try and change it. Really hope the yellow box is powering the lead in the garage, I'll have an electrician test it! All of that being said - I forgot to mention that there's a bloody oil burner in the garage for the central heating, no...

    Cable confusion.

Ahh... that would make sense (I'm clueless by the way). Here's a better pic: Appears to be just what you said, the grey wire goes into it, then the earth goes to that little black box, no other wires going to or from the yellow box.

    Cable confusion.

Fuse box doesn't seem to be connected to them, house alarm switched off: Any help greatly appreciated, wouldn't mind some decent power going to the garage, need to run a compressor in there, maybe 30 amp.

    Cable confusion.

I've just bought a house with some wires hanging in the garage, no idea what they are or what they are connected to. Got some pics of them and the fuse box: Cable coming through the wall (thin white one too). End of that cable: Ceiling wires: Freaky things poking out...

Toilet blockage, Soil pipe leaking outside

cheers, I'm soaked through (with rain!) and getting diminishing returns, managed to get the plunger fixture of the rod right up to the bottom of the stack - did nothing. Gave up and showered. The missus' old man is coming tomorrow with his ladders so I'll pass on your advice and watch him get...
