Ip65 bathroom lights advice

My lights are looking rusty so I thought I’d replace them. Only the light above the shower looks fire rated, the other 5 not.
Could you look at the wiring and let me know if anything looks beyond a DiY install? Thanks.

Ok. Unless it is another property above, fire-rated is not required.

Thanks, no there's just roof space above.
There is some loose insulation present though, and I think some of the lights are pretty tightly packed in by it, which is a concern.
 
These might be useful to make your job easier (and better than the tape they used before).

Put one side of these onto the two cables in your ceiling to join them together.
On the other side put a short length of cable to your new light unit (easier to do as you can do it on kitchen table).
Then plug two halves together.

Also suggest you get 240V light units (remove and throw away all the 'transformers').

It is. The instructions on the new lights will state the clearance necessary and also if they are suitable for bathrooms.

Just get 240V ones. There is no point in bothering with a transformer.
 
Also, What is your hole diameter and how much space above??

Quick look at Screwfix and toolstation (other suppliers out there) has this with an "overall height of 58mm":

It needs a hole of 65 to 70mm.

Very good info, thanks. I was wondering about the transformer on the shower light.
I've had a dig around the loose insulation and it looks like it can be shifted away from the light units.

Off to screwfix!

Oh, will the aurora lights still require the connector block that you mentioned earlier?
 
Well I managed to get them done. Only one is lighting up so I'd better rip them all back out tomorrow. Should have bought that connecter....
 
You will have one transformer per light. Did you remove all of them?

which new down lights did you choose?
 
Bad move. When one fails you will not be able to find a matching replacement. Much better to get fittings with replaceable GU10 lamps.

I'll be long gone by the time these bad boys fail.
The suspect light was indeed the only one working, great advice from all.
