Help me with my dodgy flush!

Is this large white unit the Siphon? Seems the Diaphragm is torn at the bottom, I guess replacing this would help things considerably? Also is this the right one to replace it with? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115515961256

Can a socket be put on this?

These two items are in different cupboards. However the switch here ( for the shower ) doesn't have a socket on, so would it still be acceptable to take a spur of 2.5mm wire off this?

Can a socket be put on this?

Thanks for the help all. Can you confirm some things then, since my knowledge of electric and sockets is poor. Would I simply take a “spur” off that white box going to a socket with the correct thickness of cable and all is good? Don’t worry I will be looking into this properly before I tackle...

Damage to flat, repair feels potentially poor. Any advice?

Good afternoon I had some damage in my flat from a broken rainwater hopper, it flooded my front room and has caused mould on the walls, this was after having the entire room gutted, reskimmed and flooring replaced around 6 months back for leaking problems caused by something else. The wall...

Why is my home raised, can it be fixed?

Thanks for the responses everyone, as you saw from my previous post. It is a 1970s groundkeepers bungalow, probably built quite basic I imagine. I did pull up the floorboards this evening and see if there was anything underneath. It all looks fairly plain and standard, nothing too shocking down...

Why is my home raised, can it be fixed?

Good afternoon folks! I have recently purchased a Bungalow and plan to renovate and extend it. However as you can see from the below picture the height of the floor is raised a good elevation. Simply put, why would this be the case? Secondly if I am about to completely gut the building, replace...

    Simple light socket question

Hello! I am trying to replace a weird old light fitting with a simple white bayonet fitting. When I pulled the old ceiling lamp thing off I found 4 cables dangling down, I need these to fit into my fairly generic bayonet fitting. Whats the best way to do this given I have 4 rather than just 1...

Questions relating to extension, planning permissions and road noise!

I am in the process of purchasing a 1970s bungalow. It was originally the ground keepers house for a gated community and a bunch of flats. I have some plans to do a single story extension, the current area is around 600 Sq foot and I want to increase it to around 1000 Sq foot. I plan to renovate...

It’s hard to tell, but looks like it’s leaking from the bottom, all the valves are dry.

Immersion tank apartment leaking - lockdown

Yesterday we noticed our immersion heater tank leaking. It’s quite bad and pooling up over the course of a few hours. Anything I can do to resolve this? I’m worried that plumbers won’t be working right now due to the virus.
