Sorry should of said itll be 6mm up to the switch then 2.5mm to the fused sockets from the switch.

thats really helpful thanks so ill think ill change it to a 20amp rather than hacking up the wall to create a ring.

just out of curiousty what would changing it to 20 amp from a 32 amp actually do in terms of making it safe?

so were did we get with this? connect the two center sockets together and remove the top far right one? that sound right? do i need to change the mcb to 20 amps or is the 32 fine?
