Dripping tundish OSO unvented water heater

Hi, I've got a dripping tundish on our unvented OSO water heating tank. It started off as quite a flow, which got worse when I turned the TPR valve, but has reduced back to a drip when I drained the system and recharged it following the instructions on the side of the tank. Before I...

    Smelly bathroom

For anyone interested, it turned out that the problem here was a very blocked trap - 10 years of lady stuff down it. To recap, the smell was coming from the shower trap that shared a common waste pipe with two basins and a bath, all feeding to the main soil pipe. After much detective work it...

    Tap water pressure problem

Answer? Fancy modern mixer taps with a filter mesh at the spout. Completely full of crap. Unscrew the end, clean the filter. Job done.

Sort of. Much smaller, fewer bits on the outside.

    Tap water pressure problem

Sorry, you're right that we don't have a pressurised system in the conventional sense, but I think the immersion heater is pressurised from the mains to give hot water pressure (there are no tanks in the roof).

    Tap water pressure problem

The boiler is a simple immersion heater - just supplying hot water, with heating from storage heaters.

    Tap water pressure problem

Right, I've done the searches and found all the useful info on this site and elsewhere about how to clear an airlock. Now it seems to me, if I've got pressure at the shower and flow to the loo (I think), but no hot and cold to the taps in the bathroom and the kitchen, I must have an airlock...

    Tap water pressure problem

There are flexi-connectors, and they may be kinked, but I would be surprised if they both got kinked so as to reduce the pressure dramatically at the same time. If there's an airlock, how to test and remedy?

    Tap water pressure problem

Hi, we've got an odd problem with our pressurised system. Kitchen sink and one bathroom basin have next to no pressure/flow on hot and cold, yet shower in the bathroom is fine. Pressure in basin taps in bathroom next to the first one are fine as is a basin downstairs (both these rooms are at...

Grohe ceiling arm to shower rose leaks...

Sorry, haven't got a picture. Grohe say they don't know why the flats are there. Problem is fixed for the time being however by liberal application of water hawk jointing compound on every available thread.

Grohe ceiling arm to shower rose leaks...

Hi, I'm slowly completing a shower enclosure. I've got a Grohe shower arm coming out of the ceiling which has screwed into it a 5" shower head (non-Grohe) using a 3/4" (head end) to 1/2" (arm end) adaptor. The problem is, the threaded end of the Grohe arm is only threaded part way round so...

How to tell if a circuit is on an RCD?

So....I do have to bond, and it should always have been bonded?

How to tell if a circuit is on an RCD?

Many thanks. So, in summary, I did need it, and now I don't.

How to tell if a circuit is on an RCD?

I was thinking more about running continuous g/y from the various bonding points under the floor, leaving the clamps visible. Even if, as I suspect from the previous posts, my lighting circuit and equipment outside zones 1 and 2 is not RCD protected? Only lighting which is caught as...

How to tell if a circuit is on an RCD?

It is not a massive job to do so as all the floors are up and the walls will need to be redecorated so filling in some chasing is not a problem. Cost of the g/y and bonding straps is inconsequential. No. Because they are incompetent? When was the work done?

How to tell if a circuit is on an RCD?

That all sounds very complex. Probably easier just to bond to the light fitting earth and ensure all other metallic conductors are also bonded in the bathroom? Basic question remains, though, why did the previous installers (electrical and plumbing) not bond if there is no RCD on the...

How to tell if a circuit is on an RCD?

So, to put an RCBO on the relevant circuit, I just get a RCBO cartridge of the right size and spec and slot it in to replace the existing device protecting the circuit?? Many thanks for all the input.
