    Towel rad not heating

Nope, not a sniff. I've just tried replacing the radiator vent plug with a 15mm fitting and a hose, then opened each valve in turn. Water appears to be flying through.

    Raising floor level to tile

Sorry if i was vague. The tile former is made by marmox and actually 20mm deep. After a few hours on google i'm ordering 20mm marmox multi board to raise the rest of the floor equally - i wasn't aware this product existed. :?

    Raising floor level to tile

Hiya! I've a wetroom tray on it's way which will take up one end of a 4' x 12' room, it's about an inch deep so the rest of the room needs raised to meet it. No big deal as the next rooms floor is higher anyway as it was built with this in mind. Now then the existing floor is concrete...

Thanks for the input. The wall is 8 feet high by 12 wide, will dot dab hold the weight of the board plus the tiles. Also, do you use tape or something along the plasterboard joins?

How do i attack my en-suite

Hokey cokey. Here's a not brilliant picture of one wall which will form my new en-suite bog. The layout of the house jas been re-jigged and the picture shows two door ways that have been bricked up. Well, blocked. There's gonna be a wetroom in here so that whole wall will be tiled...

    LED downlights in my Hall

That's exactly what i was gonna use. The first plan i drew up only used 8 lamps, i've a feeling this will not be bright enough. I could go with 10 or 12, but will my hall be lit up like Wembley? On the other hand i've heard they don't give out as much light as halogen so maybe 12 is the way...

    LED downlights in my Hall

Ok so i'm fitting LED downlights in our hall, it's T-shaped, in a bungalow. You walk in the front door and the hall is 1800mm wide and runs 4500mm front to back, at the far end it branches off into a T to the bedrooms one way and the kitchen the other. Each side of the T there is about...

    Wet room question

Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. We recently moved into a concrete floored bungalow, and i'm hoping to convert the en suite bog into a wet room shower area. The room will need enlarged but this is no problem, i can steel the space from a hallway cupboard and a built in...

Yale Premium Alarm Hsa6400 Wirefree Alarm Kit

Crikey that's a can of worms! Thanks for the input lads, for my question. I'm think I'm gonna go for the wireless system, it seems to tick all the boxes and the disadvantages I can live with. Or at least I think I can, we live near a busy road and I'm concerned about spurious alarms caused by...

Yale Premium Alarm Hsa6400 Wirefree Alarm Kit

Lovely! I'm looking at purchasing one of these systems due to the ease of installness. Would you recommend it otherwise? Can wireless systems be as secure as wired? Any other advice would be much appreciated.

    Hotpoint WD440

Our washer dryer appears to be working fine. You can do a load of washing and when the program finishes the clothes are slightly damp but the spin cycle has removed almost all the water. Up until a few days ago i'd put the clothes on the line, jobs a good 'un. But if a try to use the...

Thanks for the input mate, it's much appreciated. I'm planning to turn the power to the boiler off tonight, close the flow and return off, and disconnect the condensate pipe to see if anything comes out.

    Worcester greenstar 24i problem

Just thought i'd bump this. I've been fighting on with this now for ages, eventually signed up to british gas' for their service / repair thing and i'm waiting for them to come out. I pressurised the system and closed the CH flow and return valves, the next morning the pressured had...

    Worcester greenstar 24i problem

Thanks lads, i'll give it a go when i'm off at the end of the week. If i top it up and it losing roughly 0.5 i the first day, any idea what volume of water that is? Surely the carpet should be discoloured or something?

    Worcester greenstar 24i problem

Hey kids, first post. Ok here's the deal. My boiler's been in for 3 years and for the first 12 months it was fine, then the CH system started losing pressure so i'd have to top it up every few weeks. This bugged me but i couldn't for the life of me find a leak. it got worse and by last winter...
