    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

Can I just buy a ring mains tester from eBay or somewhere and test it myself? Is it just the type that's plugged into a socket and beeps etc if faulty? Well hopefully once tested that's the end of it, thanks very much for everyone's help.

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

As it happened I couldn't get hold of a 40A so I bought two new 32A and fitted. Cut back and cleaned up wiring to socket's MCB. Just showered and no buzzing from C/U anymore. I don't have a ring mains tester though so should I get an electrician out to check? Also why would the socket's MCB...

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

The only thing I can find wrong with my untrained eye is the wiring to the ground floor sockets MCB that is shown in the pics above. I can't remove the wiring from it so I'm guessing that needs sorting either way but would it be the problem with the shower?

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

The shower is the second single MCB from the left. So 6mm wiring? Worth trying a 40A as the screws all seem tight?

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

If I took the cover back off the shower and took a photo of the wiring to it would that help knowing what size cable I have or difficult to say from a photo?

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

It's never tripped out or misbehaved at all until yesterday, sometimes being used three times a day, they're not short showers either. It's not tripped out yet just makes that buzzing that comes and goes dependant on if the MCB is being pushed up or not. Is there a way to find out what wiring...

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

So would it be worth me trying a 40A MCB? I do remember something about when the new shower was fitted it was a slightly higher rating than before, maybe the old one was 7.5kw. A plumber fitted the shower, but I asked an electrician friend of mine about it and he said it might 'nuisance trip'...

    Triton shower buzzing/MCB buzzing?

Hi all, just after a bit of advice on a potential problem I've just come across today please? I have a Triton Enrich 8.5kw electric shower, my son was using it today and I just happened to walk by the fuse board as the shower was on and it was making a substantial buzzing noise from the 32A...

    Gas or electric shower?

The only reason I was asking was I have both, the only cost would be some sort of adaptor for the mixer tap. My boiler isn't an efficient one but I don't use it much. Hopefully it's as they say and prices will fall again next year.....you know, like when diesel prices fall loads once they've...

    Gas or electric shower?

Thanks all, I've been using the electric shower for the past 15 odd years so ill stick with it, I just wondered if now prices had gone proper mental gas might be the better option. Plus I wouldn't fit a power shower, I always remember my Nan having one of those mixer tap adaptors that you could...

    Gas or electric shower?

Hi all, I'm not sure if I've posted in the right section as I didn't know whether to go in electrics, or plumbing and heating? After seeing my energy renewal quote and nearly falling off my chair earlier I've been wondering what the best way to go about saving energy might be. I'd like to get...

Neff Oven fan not working and bulb inoperative

Hi all, I have recently been fitting a replacement kitchen and with the kind help of some of the people on here have finally managed to get to a stage where the appliances are in. The oven is a Neff b1881n0gb, but the fan doesn't work. Listings show that the fan is bespoke for this model oven...

Electric oven wiring inlet close to gas pipe

"Fitted oven with gas pipes behind | DIYnot Forums" https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/fitted-oven-with-gas-pipes-behind.482516/ I was just going on the info 4th post down which I've also seen on a couple of other forums. But if it's good as it is then it saves me some hassle.

Electric oven wiring inlet close to gas pipe

That the gas pipe looks like, although difficult to see/measure due to design of cabinet, that it's less than 25mm from an electrical cable, albeit one that's fixed and will have no chance of chafing against the pipe.

Electric oven wiring inlet close to gas pipe

Hi all, I'm not sure if I'm just an unlucky DIY'er or this is the way of things, but am currently having a few teething problems fitting a replacement kitchen. Latest obstacle is the oven is 550mm deep, but there's a gas pipe (that I only had made on Friday) that once the oven is fitted is...

    Cooker hood, earth or not?

Thanks for everyone's help, esp EFL. The Debox I bought from Screwfix the other day was marked maintenance free, had sprung loaded terminals almost like speaker wiring clamps, intending to use one of those.
