    decking framework

Here's the latest plan. I think I'm going with posts concreted in, but bitumen painted.

    decking framework

I have spent two days reading decking questions here and elsewhere, and advice seems to vary loads! I'm building a 3x5.6m deck, planning on using 50x150 for the framework. Spanning tables suggest I can span the 3m without an intermediate support. Will this be OK, or should I put a post support...

    Rotten Decking Help

You're not the first to suggest that! Almost following that advice - gone for cemented slabs on which to sit legs/posts holding the bearers, rather than burying them.

    Rotten Decking Help

Hi all, I have a rotten deck issue that I am hoping the collective can help with. We bought the house complete with deck about 3 years ago; I dont know how old the decking it. The corner in the pics started to show signs of rot last year, and I replaced the odd board but didnt go so far as...

    which timber for a 2100mm gap ?

Yes - thanks. So use 6x2 for the platform, laid in lengths between 2x4 supports screwed to the wall frame. Sounds good, and a different way of thinking than using a sheet.

    which timber for a 2100mm gap ?

Afternoon all. I am coming to the end of a playhouse build. The depth is 2100mm, and I am planning an internal platform to form a 'second floor'. This will be about 600mm wide and will basically be a wood frame and a sheet of T&G flooring. My original plan was to screw a length of 2x4 between...

    Exterior sealant for wood ?

Thanks. So..... treat the end grain, then a few beads of sealant followed by the trim and then more seal? Any tips on type of seal?

    Exterior sealant for wood ?

I am about done building a new shed/playhouse. Its clad using shiplap, with 19x38mm strips on the corners that the shiplap butts up to in order to cover up the sawn ends. I am looking into whether or not to run sealant down the edge of theese strips to seal the cladding, and also down the sides...

Confused please help ! Vapour barrier on shed

As per other posts, I am currently building a 2sqm shed/playhouse. The frame is finished, and its time to get the roof and cladding on. Roof will be 11mm OSB covered in IKO super shed felt. The cladding is 19x100 treated loglap. I’m not planning on insulating the building fully straight...

    Children's playhouse - or is it a shed ?!

I've posted the odd question on the forums, but thought I would go for a 'projects' post to sum everything up as things develop. I initially paved the area in question as it was previously just a muddy ditch. I think it used to host a trampoline before we bought the house. I planned this year...
