    Sanitaryware fixings

Hi guys, Sorry if this is not the correct forum, but wasn't sure where to ask first. Where can I get the plastic/nylon inserts, flanged bushes or whatever they are called, that you are supposed to put into the toilet pan/cistern/basin fixing holes before putting the screw through...

    Gas Cooker Space

Hello All, I'm hoping someone who is Gas Safe Reg can just answer a query for me before I go and buy a new gas cooker. I know the regs are always changing so thought that I would double check. I know that where installation instructions are not available, a freestanding gas cooker has to...

    Mini Basin Tap

Sorry forgot to "close" this. Basically, the strap wrench idea didn't work, as the chamfer on the top didn't allow it to grip without slipping off. I made sure it was fully dry, put some elastaplast type tape around it and used a pair of grips, it loosened quite easilly in the end. Popped...

    Mini Basin Tap

Some good ideas there, Many Thanks. I'll look for a box spanner of the right size while I'm waiting for the cartridge, but the strap wrench looks a good option as well. Cheers for that.

    Mini Basin Tap

Partial success anyway. I haven't got the purchase receipt but, Did as suggested. They are sending me a replacement cartridge. Apparently, I need an "external box spanner" to take the old one out. The six cut outs for this are visable in the second picture. What the heck is an "external box...

    Mini Basin Tap

I understand what your saying, but it cost me £120 about two years ago and its made by MM2, so it's not exactly a cheapo.

    Mini Basin Tap

Hi guys, Can anyone offer me some advice on a mini basin tap. Basically, if the warm water runs, the tap movement, both on and off and towards hot or cold, starts to squeak, tighten up, then almost seize up. It has been suggested to me that it needs a new cartridge, but how can it be replaced...

    Odd size External Door

Ok foxhole, Thanks for that. I think I've found an 807 x 2000 now which will be closer, but having examined the bottom of my door more closely, the rail is now only 150mm so I think that you are probably correct.

    Mini Basin Mixer and Tails

OK. Just for any one in the future, I just put plenty of silicon grease on the o rings at the end of the tails and hand tightened them as far as I possibly could. All installed and seems to be working well. Thanks for your advice guys.

    Mini Basin Mixer and Tails

Unfortunately, this particular tap will not dismantle in that fashion. The point at which the threads are for the tails to be screwed in is brazed to the base of the tap housing.

    Mini Basin Mixer and Tails

Thanks. Yes the tails have two rubber o-rings on the end that connects into the tap. I'm beginning to think that they might only need hand tightening. The taps were described on one web site that I saw, as coming with "easy fit connecting hoses" perhaps that is what they mean.

    Mini Basin Mixer and Tails

This shows the underside of the tap, it is about 55mm up to the holes where the flexible tails have to be connected the bottom of the tap is only 30mm diameter. So the question is how to tighten the tails once they have been done up finger tight?

    Mini Basin Mixer and Tails

Yes, I understand that, the problem I have is how to fix the flexible connectors to the tap. How do I tighten them on to the tap? I cannot get a spanner inside the tap housing to do it.

    Mini Basin Mixer and Tails

Hi Guys, A newbie here so be gentle........... Hoping for a bit of advice. I have just bought a mini basin for a small cloakroom. It comes with a MM2 Mini Basin Mixer (S16.001) and this tap is supplied with two loose flexible tails, according to one description I have read, "easy fix"...
