Tanking slurry vs bitumen emulsion. Damp garage wall.

Yes agreed, the plan was to run a channel down the side. Surface only as its a shared road, the properties are Edwardian so god knows where the drains are, or how deep. Either a precast 150mm or cast my own in situe, haven't decided yet.

Tanking slurry vs bitumen emulsion. Damp garage wall.

I have a garage which is built with the walls sitting on the concrete slab, with a DPC at floor level, single skin brick. Parts of the walls are below ground, when it rains water seeps through the DPC. I've dug out and exposed one side and will cut back the DPC as close to the brick joint as...

External door steps, upvc threshold height and the 150mm dcp.

To the left is the extension, on the right at 90deg to this is the original house wall. To the right of the patio door is next doors garden wall, running parallel with the extension. I have removed the existing concrete slab, which was less than 150mm below dcp level. We had no issues stepping...

    Quick question, gable ladder

I thought as much, presumably the ladder construction makes the job easier and quicker on a larger roof. Managed to knock this up on sunday, just a few braces left to do.

    Quick question, gable ladder

Can I use the end truss as part of a gable ladder, so the truss forms one side of the ladder? Or should I construct the ladder from two lengths and then fix to the last truss? I have seen both when searching but unsure what meets current regs or is best practice. Thanks

Steps to front door on sloping ground. Rise and going?

I cant dig out as this would leave a hole in my drive, the land slopes and the drive follows. I would have to dig the whole drive way out and level it, probably exposing the house foundations.

I am designing a porch on the front of my house. Trying to get the rise the same on the first two steps, up to the porch floor and then into the house, 4 steps in total including floors. Assuming the steps are wrap around steps where do I measure the rise from? The center of the door or the...

Does my kitchen need to be on a seperate ring?

ahh so basicly if its going to be a large ground floor ring, supplying several rooms then its better to have the higher current appliances on their own circuit, to prevent the trip getting close to its limit. where as smaller rings with less on them dont have such a load and therefore a seperate...

I would like to put an extension on the back of the kitchen which is on the right side of the house. To avoid planning permission I am trying to...
