Changing 3 way dimmer to 2 gang architrave switch

Hi all, I have a 3 gang dimmer which controls 2 sets of LED downlights (9 in total) that are in our galley kitchen and the outside light. I would like to combine the downlights and outside light to a 2 gang architrave switch. I have no requirement for a dimming function and need a slim switch...

    Cooker hood question on ducting

Thanks for asking. I've remodelled the kitchen and in doing so have had to move the hob, to the right, by 45mm. I am not in a position to move the existing ducting as it is adjacent to a joist, so I need to connect to it with a slight angle to make up the 45mm. I've read that flexible ducting...

    Cooker hood question on ducting

Hi all, I need to move your cooker hood 45mm to one side. I know flex isn't great due to the issues of collecting grease etc, but would a short span be ok as I can't seem to find a rigid connector that will work. Thanks in advance. H

Quick question on finishing a splash back

Hi all, I'm just finishing up our kitchen install with a metro tile splash back. The tiles are flat 200x100x7 in matt white, grout is Fugabella No4. Is a 6mm trowel the right way to go? S1 Adhesive? Not too fussed about price, more convenience as I'm hoping to finish up asap. Lastly, without...

DPC higher than concrete slab, damaged DPM and easy self leveller?

Would it be worth applying something a liquid DPM like Synthanpruf to the area where the slab meets the brick? Maybe trying to get in behind the DPM for the length of the wall? Apologies for my amateur ideas, time is short! Thanks again.

DPC higher than concrete slab, damaged DPM and easy self leveller?

    1. There is a DPC in the wall, but it's 3 courses high. The slab is level with the DPC on the stone cill, but further along , the DPC is 1 course higher. 2. The floor was down when we moved in. 8 years ago. 3. No room to bring the floor up. Thanks for the help

Self levelling and DMP on kitchen floor. Ardex NA?

Thanks pal. I've just posted in the building forum, but the external wall DPC is a course too low which would have been contributing to any damp. I've also had a plastic sheet sealed on all sides with a cheap digital hygrometer underneath. The reading has only gone from 34 - 36% in 36 hours. I...

DPC higher than concrete slab, damaged DPM and easy self leveller?

Hi All, I'm installing a new kitchen and will be self levelling the concrete slab for tiling (TBD). I've just discovered that the DPC is a course too high and actually sits above the concrete slab. Weirdly the cowboys who did the kitchen previously have also cut away the DPM at the level of the...

Self levelling and DMP on kitchen floor. Ardex NA?

Hey all, Another question here. I've lifted all the floor tiles and adhesive from the floor, but have left some deeper marks where the chisel worked extra hard! The floor has a deviation of about 12mm. Should I use Ardex rapid repair mortar to fill the deep areas, then Ardex NA to level, Ardex...
