Hi all, I have an LEC L5511 fridge and I have been checking the temperature of food inside as things seemed a bit warm (8C). It was on 4 out of 6. Moved thermostat to 5 and it went down hardly at all. Moved to 6 and everyting froze (ruining lots of veg. Is it normal for a thermostat to only...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

however.... before I do that does anyone have a view as to the most reliable. When I trawl amazon and the forums I see that there are loads of complaints about most of the makes - especially the Drayton Lifestyle's and relays failing and doing random things (like mine) and also the Honeywell...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

I'm thinking that too. Can I be that unlucky though..... Any recommendations on a reliable programmer. I only need separate independant control of the HW and CH, same times every day but CH and HW on for differing lengths. Prefer mechanical with no relays if available but I can only see timers...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

Hi, I did the testing with the plate off the wall but the controller properly attached. You can then do the testing with a multimeter at the rear of the backplate. I've done a bit more troubleshooting and removed 3&4 wires so only L & N are connected. I then did various on and off's for the...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

... just to add to that. Then long and short of it is that my HW always starts before the heating so 99% of the time its not an issue. I tried to boost the HW that had turned off while the CH was still on and it didn't work. That's how I found out. I rarely do this. I guess If I need to then...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

hi, 1st stage complete. If this throws no light then I'll measure HW valve and cyl stat. I have done some more permutations and noticed the following: If the heating is on first (regardless of demand or not from heating) then the HW does not work. Took the faceplate off wall to measure...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

Hi, I wonder if some central heating wiring expert would be good enough to give me a helping hand. I had the following: Greenstar 24i system boiler Grasslin QE2 controller – set to Fully pumped) Fully pumped system with 2 x zone valves (one for CH and one for HW) Room stat HW tank stat...

Dulux endurance+ matt paint for pipe boxing

Ok cool. thanks for that. I have an old tin of homebase weathercoat "quick drying exterior primer undercoat". Any reason the exterior product should not be used inside too. Saves me a few quid buying an interior specific one...... If latter then is WICKES TRADE ALUMINIUM WOOD PRIMER okay...

Dulux endurance+ matt paint for pipe boxing

Hi, I have just painted my walls with a few coats of endurance+ and now need to turn my attention to the pipe boxing in (waste pipe) that runs the length of one wall. The other half wants it the same colour / finish as the walls and I wanted to know if anyone has used the endurance+/Diamond...

McAlpine 110mm Flexi BTW Pan Connector WC-F21R - should I use Plumbers mate?

Thanks everyone. No plumbers mate it is then. I wanted to wait a day or so to let all the inevitable debates about flexi or not to flexi to die down :-)

McAlpine 110mm Flexi BTW Pan Connector WC-F21R - should I use Plumbers mate?

Hi, I have a McAlpine 110mm Flexi BTW Pan Connector WC-F21R - the one with the jubilee clip on the spigot end. I wanted to know peoples installation experience and whether one should use a good dollop of plumbers mate on the inside of the sleeve prior to tightening the jubilee clip. I guess I...

87.5 or 92.5 degree bend for soil pipe behind back to wall toilet

Thanks guys. The one I am getting (I think) is one of the best so I have every faith. Didn't want to start a flexi connector war. I appreciate there are those who love them and those who hate them :-) Paul

87.5 or 92.5 degree bend for soil pipe behind back to wall toilet

Hi, I am wanting to connect a 90 degree(ish) double socket bend to my 110mm drainage pipe behind my BTW toilet installation. The drainage pipe extends down through the concrete suspended floor about 70cm to another bend and then horisontally out. I plan to then use a 100mm straight McAlpine...

Thats a very good point (about the leak will necessitate a replacement panel anyway). Perhaps I have been overthinking things a bit :-)

Back to Wall Toilet and Concealed Cistern - Framing and Adjustable wall

Thanks gents. the issue for me though is to have access to the bottom of the stack on the pan in case of adjustment/leaks and also access to the inlet pipe for same reason. Maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid :-) Anyway, I already have the pan and cistern so The Geberit is not an option. I...

Back to Wall Toilet and Concealed Cistern - Framing and Adjustable wall

Hi, I am about to fit a back to wall toilet in my cloakroom and remember when I had this done some time ago the fitter created a wall that only had a lid (to access the top of the concealed cistern). I would like to do a more future maintenance friendly job myself on this new project and am...
