Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

Errrr yes... and I did the steps I described (or "blundered into it doing a factory reset" in your words) which resolved my problem AFTER asking on here.

Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

Fair enough. If I do find out at the next power cut then I'll change the battery. Till then, I'll leave it well alone. But to clarify, the battery appeared to power the siren pretty loudly! o_O

Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

I kind of expected this. But please reflect on the point that the steps I listed in my last post fully resolved my problem. When I initially posted my problem, I had hoped that "one of these 'experts' of 35/40yrs experence" (your words, and I'll take you claim at its word) would have been able...

Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

OP here. I'd like to thank all the experts who told me to replace the battery. Actually, I have now resolved my issue without replacing the battery. This is how: Removed mains fuse and disconnected battery in the upstairs box. Left for 8 hours. Shorted the reset pins and connected battery...

Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

Accepted, I guess. That seems to be the first suggestion made to similar posts in the past. The battery appeared to power the siren pretty well, though it wasn't as loud as when the mains was connected. What are the "other possibilities" that you mentioned? Thanks! Pete

Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

Thanks, but I didn't find your post helpful. Clearly you are an expert in these things and I am not, so I came here hoping for a little help.

Scantronic Burglar Alarm - How to Clear a Tamper

After a power cut today my Scantronic 9427 panel 'Tamper' light is on. How can I clear it and make the alarm usable again? I have attempted to implement the factory reset process described on page 10 of the closest I can find to my panel, which is available on line here...

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm - We don't have a Zone 6 but now it lights up!

Ah, OK, seem to have cracked it using https://is.gd/2YBTiq. Program code 15 lets you disable one or more zones. For posterity, the full process is: 20 -> Enter -> 7890 -> 15 -> Enter -> '6' to disable zone 6 -> Enter -> 99 -> Enter. Guess that makes me no longer a newbie! Thanks for...

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm - We don't have a Zone 6 but now it lights up!

Hi. I think it might have gone back to default. Then my wife reset the original access code that you see in the video in my original post. Assuming that's the case, how do I get rid of the Zone 6 light as per the video / original post? Any ideas? Many thanks! Pete

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm - We don't have a Zone 6 but now it lights up!

OP here. Just to add to the original post. If I key '6' + 'Omit' + code then the Zone 6 light flashes but the alarm sets and appears to operate as before. I just need to find out how to get back to not needing this additional step! Thanks!

Scantronic 9448+ Alarm - We don't have a Zone 6 but now it lights up!

Hi, I'm hoping there is a simple solution to this, which currently eludes me. We have an alarm with a Scantronic 9448+ keypad (our leaflet says 9448+ but the panel says 9427 but I think they're the same?). Following a power cut we now have a situation where the Zone 6 light comes on when you...

Diagnose wierd starting problem on Ford Focus TDci 1.6 (2009

Thanks John. I'll have a crank when the wife gets back from Brownies tonight and see what happens to the lights! If the battery was good would they dim? I know how to check the voltage using the Focus console - it says 12.3V with the engine off. Cheers, Pete

Diagnose wierd starting problem on Ford Focus TDci 1.6 (2009

I've just been experimenting with the car. Headlights on with engine off, definitely not dim - not sure whether that exonerates the battery? The battery is Ford-branded so presumably is likely to be original? Tried some starts. It did the same as before - i.e. (starter solenoid clicking...

Diagnose wierd starting problem on Ford Focus TDci 1.6 (2009

Hi John, Many thanks for your reply. So maybe it's coincidence that putting the car in gear an pushing it a couple of inches has resulted in a successful start? I guess a sample of 3 is not huge! (If you think my theory is off you should hear some of the theories my wife has come up with...

Diagnose wierd starting problem on Ford Focus TDci 1.6 (2009

Hi, I'd really appreciate some wisdom on my Ford Focus TDCi 2009 1.6 starting problem. The succinct version is that occasionally it fails to start! There is a clicking (ticking?) noise from the engine (about twice per second) when I turn the key but the starter fails to turn. From my...

Toilet with right angle soil exit?

Many thanks for this! The flexible pan connector looks great. One question - if you look a the photos I posted the existing white pipe that takes the soil away is wider at the end which allows the join with the toilet out pipe to be made. If it was cut, losing the wider bit, would it still be...

Toilet with right angle soil exit?

Either I don't understand what you mean or you're having a laugh? No, the walls are the walls. If I can't get a toilet with a right angle exit for soil that's impossible - did you check my photos? We already have one in place - it was done a few years ago, before we ran out of momentum on...

Toilet with right angle soil exit?

Hi, The sorry state of my downstairs loo is shown here: http://goo.gl/mtlw2 My wife wants (OK, I agree too!) a modern loo upgrade! As you can see, the china from the toilet exits at right-angles to the right. The mains water stopcock is pictured in the right-hand corner at the back...
