Thx I will change the head and see how it goes I wondered if the valve was worn or tight this could cause extra force to the head making it strain but I'll see how I get on cheers

Noisy 3 port valve, head or valve

hi guys My 3 port valve is getting to the stage it's starting to wake me up at night! Sounds like this From your experience is it possible to know if it's likely to be the head or the valve itself. Obviously the head will be a lot easier for me to swap but just interested the most likely...

    Epdm roof wrinkles question

hi This is a photo of my flat epdm roof after about a year. I can’t be certain but I think the wrinkle has always been there. My question is should I grab some roof sealant from screwfix and run a line along the seal as I’m sure it’s gapped a Tiny bit I’m aware this is the greatest fix in he...

samsung elec oven electrical burning smell

thanks for the advice. i found the wire harness online for £20 and the element is another £60 so not sure if it is worth mucking about with to be honest. im not entirely confident about putting just a spade connector on there as there maybe an overriding problem with it and dont want to risk a fire

samsung elec oven electrical burning smell

Update, Took back plate off. Pretty obvious that a connector had been burning. Think its the connection to one of the elements. Are they easy inexpensive to replace. Probably should do the element as well i suppose? Thanks

samsung elec oven electrical burning smell

hi, I have a built in single electric over by samsung BF641fst which is about 4 years old Recently it has developed a burning smell, almost chemical. The oven has been cleaned to no fix, and there is no associated smoke. I can run the fan ok and then the minute the heat is applied it seems to...

    Shower trap drainage

Due to other issues I have a very waste pipe that runs virtually level under my tray until it runs into stack. On testing it worked perfectly well although I'm left with slightly more water in the trap than I should have. Should I look to replace the rap with a shallow version such as the...

    Grouting next to mirror

Hi intend to grout between my tile edge and large wall mounted wall mirror I have. Will the grout (Mapei flex) cause any damage to the mirror or should I be looking to fill with a sealant? I'm aware you have to use a special mirror sealant to bond the mirror to the wall and was worried...

Classi seal or similar around shower tray

Hi guys, I'm paranoid about water getting behind my shower tray I'm shortly about to fit. Was planning on loads of sealant but reading up on classi seal makes me wonder if I should opt for that? What are your experiences with it. 2.5m is only just over £20 so maybe a worthwhile investment...

    Shower tray riser kit movement

I purchased a pearl stone shower tray and paid extra to get the additional riser kit leg set. The tray is 760 x 760 and I have used the 6 legs supplied and levelled but still not convinced that it's solid. There is a bit of movement as the legs are cheap plastic into a metal thread. I have...

    chipboard floor. tile prep question

Thanks for the replies. Joists seem OK at 400 centres. I have added a few more screw's avoiding the pipes and it seems to improve it. I reckon I'll add a load of adhesive then lay down my hardieboard. Hopefully that will be sufficient

    Wbp ply 760 x 760 off cut?

Does anybody know where I can source external ply for a shower base. It needs to be 760x760 but most places sell it per sheet and there seems a lot of wastage let alone the price. Somewhere must sell it in a smaller size. 15 or 18mm is the thickness.

    chipboard floor. tile prep question

Previous builders made quite a few cuts into the chipboard floor. (See photo) I was planning to just have hardiebacker which I have already purchased. However there is slight creaking indicating a bit of movement. Would you recommend ply as well as the Hardie backer? I'm happy to do it as...
