Chrome 15mm pipe needed for shower, is stainless ok to use?

I need a short section of chrome water pipe for my new shower , only around 4 inches will be on show where pipe comes through the wall to the left hand side of electric shower unit, total length needed is less than a foot. I do have a length of previously used stainless steel 15mm pipe which...

Level floor but toilet pan not sitting level..sold a dud ?

Unfortunately we only have one bathroom, so it looks like i'll have to keep the pan, must say,we are gittin used to it now , just need to dig our heels in when using it  Might try to pack it up a bit between the pan base and the floor, and hide the packers with silicone, not ideal...

Level floor but toilet pan not sitting level..sold a dud ?

Hi i've just fitted a new toilet, no leaks and it's working great, only problem is that the actual pan is not sitting level. My floor tiles are dead level, bubble is in middle of spirit level both ways,ie from cistern/wall to front of pan,and also pan side to pan side when level is sitting on...

Internal corner and levels, where do i start?

Hi, it's maybe hard to tell from the photo but the tiles were fixed resting on top of a stick, then the bath put in place, they don't actually rest on the bath at any point. Tbh i did give it a bit of thought before starting tiling and reckoned the way i've done it was as good as any,every...

Lowering bath waste pipe through cavity wall into downpipe

In the end i done it without a 'Timesaver bolt-on coupling', as the pipe length which i fitted into the cast-iron downpipe was very short. I hired a coredrill, £50 it cost to drill one hole right through the cavity wall, but this enabled me to drop the waste-pipe nearly 5 inches,therefore...

Internal corner and levels, where do i start?

Hi, i'm needing a wee bit of advice, ........ Before tiling on top of the old grey tiles i know to give it a good wash with sugar soap. My problem is as you can see from my pics i've tiled the shower cubicle area and worked my way along the top of the bath, where i'm left with cut tiles...

Stopcock between lead pipe and copper pipe, wont turn off.

Update- Finally managed to turn the outside stopcock, i cut the pouring end off a plastic Ribena bottle, just the very tapered end, and tape it to the end of a 6 foot section of plastic water pipe, with the bottle lid pointing downwards,.....i used this to clear most of the mud on top of the...

Stopcock between lead pipe and copper pipe, wont turn off.

stardanny you had me wondering there, but i've gave it a scrape and it is a copper pipe. It is clearly seen as copper 1 foot above the valve, but must agree it doesn't look copper in the pic. FiremanT i phoned Scottishwater ,not the news i was hoping for,................. Scottishwater...

Stopcock between lead pipe and copper pipe, wont turn off.

Thanks for the advice,..... i phoned Scottishwater today, and they said they would get someone out to have a look tomorrow, with a view to possibly raising the stopcock, or at minimum, confirming where it is and getting it working,at no cost to myself.

Stopcock between lead pipe and copper pipe, wont turn off.

Hi dcawkwell It seems not in the case of Scottishwater :( Unless maybe i'm reading it wrong? It's the stopcock in my garden that i can't get turned off for now, though i'll have another go later. http://www.scottishwater.co.uk/you-and-your-home/your-home/pipework-responsibility...

Stopcock between lead pipe and copper pipe, wont turn off.

Dan_Robinson The outside stopcock is probably 4 feet down, maybe more, as i've got around 1 - 2 foot of key above ground level, it's quite difficult to see down the hole, plus there is around 9 inches of water lying down there,so i can't see what the key is meant to be locating...

Stopcock between lead pipe and copper pipe, wont turn off.

I'm a diy'er who's in the process of fitting a bathroom suite and shower cubicle, but things are not going to plan...... The main stop-cock,where it comes into the house was very reluctant to turn off, it didn't feel just right, and took me ages to turn it off best i could . Unfortunately...

Lowering bath waste pipe through cavity wall into downpipe

Rather than use a 'Timesaver' bolt-on coupling, would it be possible to cut the 40mm hole in the cast downpipe, and insert the 40mm plastic waste, sealing it with silicone? The plastic shower waste pipe would exit the exterior wall around 8 inches along from the original waste pipe, and at a...

Lowering bath waste pipe through cavity wall into downpipe

Hi Dan there is a smaller diameter cast pipe for the handbasin. It goes into the cast iron down-pipe around 1 foot above where the bath waste exits the wall and goes into the down-pipe. (just above the top collar thingy in the pic). Apart from that the cast iron down-pipe goes right up into...

Lowering bath waste pipe through cavity wall into downpipe

Thanks for the reply. I was actually hoping that there would maybe be a plastic T-section available to sort of piece in, after removing the cast T-section . So that cast iron T-section cant be removed without first removing the straight section that goes into the ground? Another way i...

Hi, hopefully some of you guys can help ! I'm going to be fitting a new shower cubicle and bath, only problem is i've got a concrete floor! My old shower tray was fitted on top of an 7 inch timber frame, so as the waste shower water would run downhill into the bath waste, before exiting...
