    New wall socket

Just the one wire. Yes it's round and painted, is this bad? Theres like a 'socket' in the boiler room beside me, but it doesnt have a plug input. Just a switch for the boiler, it's hard wired. But theres a wire below it than runs to the plug with the wire from it, looks as if they're connected up.

    New wall socket

The top picture the trunking is completely irrelevant, just got CAT5 into it just to tidy it up :) The wire that goes in from the bottom is the wire into the socket. I haven't touched any of the sockets, they're exactly the same as when we moved in 10 year ago :)

    What rawl plugs and screws?

I've replaced a junction box in my porch, and used the old screw and old hole to re-attach it. However, it's loose and I can't just shove a screw in the wall because it seems to be powdery and crumbles. Which is the best screws for this kinda thing? Will bronze screws be okay? Also, do I...

    Wiring my house with CAT6

I want to wire the whole house with CAT6. My router is downstairs next to my master socket. Where would I lay CAT6? On top of skirting board seems nice, but what happens when there's door frames involved? I don't like the idea of going under the carpet strip. I need CAT6 in all rooms...

    Moving a light fitting

The light fitting in my room seems to be far from the middle. Infact, it's about 20 inch from the side of the wall for some reason. How would I go about moving it and patching it up? Thank you.

    Telephone junction box. Oops.

Spot on. You probably had your dropwire into your master socket directly then, now because it's shortened he's stuck you a BT 80A and then ran internal telephone cable into your master. Good result. You could have saved yourself £99, but least it's done by BT OR themselves though.

    Telephone junction box. Oops.

Haha, what did they do? What ISP you with? You're very lucky to get an engineer out that quick & cheap. It's like £130 with TalkTalk :(

    Telephone junction box. Oops.

Is this a box where your Dropwire terminates and internal CW1308 starts from? If so post a pic, we'll identify your dropwire.. jelly crimp it together then install an 80A and we've just saved you £99.
