How do you get rid of a wasp nest

I take it all back!!!!! Don't tell him I said that. I was lucky that mine was in an easily accessible area and the entrance was facing the ground so the powder worked a treat but if it was difficult to get to I'd happily pay £50. How have you got on eckersleymark?? Going to try it yourself??

How do you get rid of a wasp nest

I got rid of my first one this summer. It was about the size of a football and in my shed. I seen wasp removal signs around town for £25 but thought 'how hard can it be really!' It's very easy. I bought wasp powder 'stuff' from B&Q for £3. Waited until about 11pm when they are mostly in the...

    Shed base quetion for newbie

I wouldn't put stones on top of plastic then wood on stones as the plastic will stop water draining effectively and may pool in the stones. The wood will rot quite quickly if its sitting in water, even if treated. You could maybe use a layer of good quality weed fabric then stones then wood...

Decking is square but fence isn't!!

That was going to be my suggestion. Build a planter out of decking and fill it with small conifers/round box bush etc. will finish off the gap and decorate the area

    Replacing slabs with Turf

Can you explain why your so defensive? You asked a question and got pretty sensible and fair replies. Sounds to me like your determined to cut costs and grow grass on top of rubble. So why ask the question. Good luck with your lovely new lawn

Can I build a bigger fence?

That's a real shame as he sounds like a decent bloke. But at the end of the day you want privacy and protection from your boy smashing his greenhouse so go for it I say. Build the fence and live your life. Shame you may lose him as a nice enough neighbour but you can't have Someone dictate to...

Can I build a bigger fence?

Is it possibly the cost that's putting your neighbour off? If your willing to put a fence up and pick up the cost maybe that will sway him in your favour. Failing that I'd just build a fence. If your neighbour wants to make life difficult then let him get on with it. Personally I'd speak to...

Temporary poles for holding up ball-stop netting - ideas?

What about zip tying the net to the top end of PVC pipe cut to a suitable length to catch balls and having these screwed to the fence, maybe 3 per pipe http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/Pipe+Clips/Talon+Hinged+Clip+White+10mm/d20/sd2706/p90494 Then when he's finished with it unclip...

    Decking joist alternative

So I posted recently about covering an old concrete base in my garden and had no idea what to do. I had a builder friend come up to chat over some ideas with him and he suggested decking the area. His suggestion has worked out surprisingly cheap, please note he didn't give me a quote for the...

Small Concrete Posts with a hole at the top for a chain

Or you could buy them and cut them to length you want and drill holes in the top. Could potentially be a cheaper option

    Covering an old concrete floor

So at the back of my garden I have this old concrete slab that used be the floor of a garage. The garage was pulled down years ago and now the 'slab' is between the end of my lawn and the garden fence. It's all overgrown and a bit of a mess. Tidied it up a little today but as I was pulling out...

Metal or wood gate for my driveway

I was faced with a similar issue. I needed a gate for the entrance to my back garden and asked for assistance on this forum. The advice I got was out of wood and metal go metal but speak to a local blacksmith as you will be surprised at how much this costs. My blacksmith came out measured...
