    Accellerating weathering/black lichen growth

What cement dye did you use? We prefer the liquid dye as you can adjust the colour easier to match.( with practice of course) Can't you redo the existing mortar to match or is this too much extra work?

    rubber instead of felt

Joe public throws everything onto their roofs. They store their ladders ontop of the garage. The window fitters drop screws, the window cleaner climbs all over it, the cat,the sky man with his cable clips, so yes rubber can leak, so anybody who says otherwise obviously has only just started on...

    rubber instead of felt

Each to his own. You won't catch me putting a bikes inner tube on my roof. Imagine if you got a leak. You would have to get a washing up bowl full of water on the roof and your dad with a foot pump

    rubber instead of felt

For a DIY man rubber is probably ideal. It's easy to do and quick. But for a pro roofer it doesn't give a pro finish.

Marine grade ply vs OSB for garage roof

I think sometimes the customer hates to think that a roofer can earn more than him. The customer never sees the hidden costs of running a professional Company.

Joining new double roman to old ones - how????

The bonding gutter nails on top of the battens. One tile nib is usually knocked off where it sits on the gutter so as to stop it raising up. The tiles can usually be nailed to stop them moving. The bonding gutter is designed in a way with two channels so as not to let water in. So ideally keep...

Avoiding Wasps getting under the eaves

Think I know the answer to this but wanted to check....

Slaters felt will be no good as over three or four years of your tiles leaking it will rot away. You need a quality flat roofing felt on your Osb boards then counter battens, then your breather felt and battens then your tiles. Don't worry about the cost because in three years when you...

    replace slate roof

I would use a grip valley rather than lead, it is easier for use to use and cost you less. I would use celotex or kingspan. To save money on your insulation I would look out for seconds quality boards. These usually have flaws on the writing on the boards or minor dents but if they are hidden...

Roof covering thats gonna be tiled

Watch the glue on some of those rubber items it doesn't half stick to your hairy bits. I wouldn't use the stuff myself but it should be ok if you are covering it with walkway tiles. It's always hard with your finishing edges or where a pipe or skylight is in a roof, did I tell you how sticky it...
