    Worktop Drainer Grooves

How do I route drainer grooves in a wooden worktop. Is there a jig for doing this or a special method? Thanks

    worktop jig

You'll be looking at at least £100 for the router as you need a minimum of 1600w and then a minimum of £80 for a jig. Then there is the danger of messing it up and wasting a worktop. I DID!!! My advice is get a pro, it costs more or less the same as the jig and saves a lot of hassle!!

    Mason mitreing (??) worktops

Having just installed new worktops take it from me you need the tools mate. At 1600w(min) router, worktop jig and some speed clamps. Oh and as I found 25 years experience to make sure you don't mess up the cutting. I ruined a length of worktop trying to do it myself. In the end I decided to...

    Floor Leveling

Ah yeah, I've seen these. Good idea. But as you say only suitable for a floating floor. I'll need to cover the entire floor with 1/4 inch ply before laying the floor anyway in order to be able to nail it down. Doubt I could lay it over the insulation without it being rigidly secured. Thanks...

    Floor Leveling

I intend to lay a hardwood floor in my living room, conservatory and dining room. The conservatory floor is currently 35mm lower than the other two rooms. All floors are concrete. Rather than have a step between the rooms I'd like to raise the conservatory floor height. What is the most...

    Buying a Mitre Saw

I'm in the market for a new mitre saw for my workshop. I've got up to £250 to spend. After looking around I'm more confused than ever and your advice is apreciated. I initially looked at a Dewalt DW707 which looks a pretty robust saw but busts the budget slightly. But since then have had a...

    another kind of radiator issue

If the feed valve is definately sound then it sounds like a possible sludge blockage. Try removing the rad taking it outside and give it a good cleaning with a hosepipe. You could also try introducing a sludge removal compound such as Fernox leave for 24hrs then draining the whole system down...
