    I'd prefer 10mm2 just to be over cautious tbh. Best to be safe than sorry! Might be a silly question but if I wanted external lighting would I be better to run a seperate circuit or would it be ok to be a part of the internal circuit too?

    id think you would be ok to use nothing in the void, personally because im fussy id put some kingspan or some sort of insulation between the wall. make sure you tie it into the existing brick work and use wall ties. thats all i can think of... but theres alot more experienced people on...
