I ended up doing the cap again, siphoned out the pipe and it looked much better. Did 2 pipes up to a wall radiator after and job satisfaction with copper pipe must be better than the plastic stuff. Great when you turn the water on and it dosnt pish out everywhere :)

Thanks Yeah did use flux, one fitting worked spot on just the second one didn't seem to show solder at join. It is sealed though.

The radiator has been permanently removed. Any tips for getting water out the pipe? Don't have access to a wet vac sadly.

It was completely dry on the outside, there was water in the pipe about 3 inches down on the inside. Would this have an effect?

Hi all, had to remove a radiator and fitted a cap to the end of the pipe. They were the type which contain a ring of solder and just require heating. On one pipe it worked perfect and you could see the solder out the edges of the cap. On the other pipe I heated it for a long time but no solder...

Hi all, I'm building a work bench in the garage and would like to add some sockets to it. There is a separate small consumer unit in the garage and the bench just happens to be right underneath it. Can I just add another socket in from the bottom to the one already used for sockets? (circled)...

Thermostat works when timer kicks on. When timer kicks off thermostat power disappeared but when timer comes back on thermostat has stayed at the temperature I set it at and not reset. So this should work fine? Will see how it goes over the next couple of days.
