Is one of our dimmers on its way out?

Thanks for warning. :) I would make sure the change was done by a professional.

Is one of our dimmers on its way out?

The dimmers work for the old tungsten bulbs, and the fitments have rough service 40 watt golf balls fitted. Low power, I meant dimmable LEDs that work from mains, as tungstens do now. Hope I'm not muddying more, and wondering if LED for tungsten can be done one for one.

Is one of our dimmers on its way out?

There are dimmers to control the lights in our lounge and dining room. They must be quite elderly as we have been occupiers for 17.5 years and our seller since new in 1971. The dimmers connect to 5 and 3 light fitments. Now the 3 light fitment flickers, when switched on, and, if dimmer is...

IIRC it looked quite different from what was there, so I made an enquiry of Roca, which identified part needed; £26.36 from Amazon.

    Jammed wall light pull switches

We moved in some seventeen years ago, and kept the previous occupants' wall lights over our bed. The lights must be quite old, our sellers being original buyers in 1971. Recently both lights' pull switches have jammed. Aware of the possible age of the units, should I even think of having them...

Roca toilet problems- identifying part needed

Late 2007- early 2008 we bought a Roca close coupled soft close from a local builders merchant, but the receipts are lost. The flush mechanism has failed, but a relative is unable to find an original or other compatible to fit. As Roca make it very difficult to contact them except via their web...

Considering changing lounge and dining room lighting to LED

I was aware the bulbs had to be the dimmable type, but thanks! :) The suggestion about doing each room in turn is helpful. My concerns are mix-and-match, and the ratings of the dimmer switches I'll need

Considering changing lounge and dining room lighting to LED

Currently each room's switch is an elderly dimmer. The principle light fitting in the lounge has 5 lamps, each with 40 w. small golf balls. The dining room has a similar fitting with 3 lamps. I'm considering a change to LED both for the ultimate savings and convenience of less frequent need for...

Is this a roof problem; what is likely cause?

Our 70s built house has a flue rather than a chimney. This serves the fireplace in our front lounge. In the main bedroom above the lounge, we recently noticed some minor discoloration of the wallpaper. Yesterday, after a heavy storm, the discoloration was more spread and serious, though it has...

On. There'd be little point of a bell push or the inside of a locked porch door. ;)
