I dont know much about it but I used LTP mattstone on mine and it really brought the colour out beautifully! Good Luck and remember to seal them before you grout them..

Dropped an anglegrinder on slate floor!

Too Right! Its out already. It lucky as the natural reaction when you drop something is to try to catch it! Luckily I manage to stop myself and went for the socket instead but nearly landed on feet or legs which wouldnt have been pretty!

Im not too worried about the grout joint its not too noticeable but I will fill in with grout when I get round to it...

Dropped an anglegrinder on slate floor!

Hey there, Got a bit of a problem! So I just plugged an angle grinder with diamond disc in to the socket and somehow the switch was down. I wasnt expecting it to turn on so I was only holding it loosely and it jumped out of my hand on to the slate floor below. It has left a 600mm...

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

When it trips it makes a relatively loud click, i can hear it from the next room (there's no door) and when resetting it it doesnt feel floppy or anything it just pushes up smoothly and either stays or clicks back. The CU is MK less than a year old - Would it go that quick? Thanks

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

No other cables run behind the cooker - The closest is the kitchen ring which runs above the worktop and is unaffected. When you say with "a pop" im not sure exactly what you mean but it generally wont reset immediatly Thanks

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

Using the camera on my phone - directly uploading from phone... OK - so common sense prevailed - If the main switch is off then no power flows past there in to the CU. Firstly the Earth from the lighting circuit had come loose - Im not sure if this was me taking the front off?I tested it...

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

I feel happy to disconnect the mcb if it is easy to do but need to confirm how and if I can isolate it first. It I flip the rcd will this mean it is no longer live? I have tried uploading a pic but it doesn't like the format Thanks

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

There's a simple way in which you could eliminate (or not) all 'electrical' explanations, hence (as far as I can make out) leaving only flameport's 'thermal' one. .... temporarily disconnect the lighting circuit from the MCB, so that there is nothing connected to the load side of that MCB, but...

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

I have just tested it again and it has tripped out after 3 1/2 minutes - There is no noticable heat coming from either of the MCBs!!! Im stumped!

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

Hi Flameport Thanks for your thoughts.. How would you suggest solving this then? The Cooker MCB is next to the lighting MCB and upstairs sockets. Would you swap its position to where the upstairs sockets are now? This would put it between the downstairs sockets and upstairs sockets...

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

PS. The Cooker circuit runs down the wall and under the downstairs floor and the lighting circuit runs straight up under the upstairs floor so they dont go anywhere near each other

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

Hi John, Thanks for your thoughts on this, I agree, it is very strange! The cooker is definately getting it power only through its own 10mm supply but i tried it just in case and as soon as you turn its mcb off the display turns off. I can be 100% sure that is no cross connection...

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

The house was completely rewired about 10months ago but it is only more recently I have noticed it happening. 3 times in last couple of weeks Sometimes it will let you reset the MCB and it will go again within a couple of mins, other times it wont reset until you have finished cooking...

Cooker/Grill is tripping only the lighting circuit

Hi there, I am new to this but was wondering if anybody had any ideas.. When the oven and grill are both on they often seem to trip out the downstairs lighting circuit.. * The cooker is run on its own 10mm supply which does not trip out, but is on the same side of the consumer unit as...
