    Thermostatic Shower Valve Problem

assuming the hot and cold supplys are both from the tanked supply you shouldnt have any real pressure differential.try disconnecting the flexi hoses from the boost pump the washers have a fine gauze inside it sounds like you have a blockage on the hot.

Need a 3/4 to 3/4 isolation valve or will this work?

ive used 22mm olives wrapped in ptfe on 3/4 in the past but had a bad experience a few years ago.left a 22mm iso valve on a mains supply into a basement boiler room of a health centre ,came back the next morning to find 3 boilers half submerged in water.ive always used 3/4 olives since!

Need a 3/4 to 3/4 isolation valve or will this work?

im assuming the pipe is the old imperial 3/4 which is smaller than 22mm and therefore you would need a 3/4 olive which you can buy separate.

hot water only when cold is running

try restricting the flow to the shower, remove the head and replace the hose washer with a 1/2" tap washer.the shower could be drawing too much water and the boiler can't cope you would need to measure the flow rate and the temp of the incoming water then consult the boiler literature.

    tap problem?

check the end of the tap there should be a plastic insert try pulling it out or pushing it in a little, apart from that there isnt much you can do its just the design of the tap.some taps have a gauze on the end and this aireates the water to stop it splashing.
