Ceiling fan manufacturer for spare parts

Hi I have a ceiling fan bought from BQ. It is made by a company called Blyss. I need to buy an extension rod as it is hitting my conservatory roof! Every time I search for Blyss spares it shows me Westinghouse spares. I'm just wondering are they the same company or would a Westinghouse rod fit...

Weight of glass roof on walls

So I'm thinking I shouldn't need lintels then with only single doors and a double door opening (French doors).

Weight of glass roof on walls

The quotes I've had from conservatory company don't mention lintels but ties only. Then when I get a builder to quote build only they mention lintels. I suppose it makes sense to stick with conservatory company for everything.

Weight of glass roof on walls

Hello I am getting quotes for a conservatory. I want the typical glass roof, but 2.3m high walls either side. These will make a small 2 1/2 brick return on the front where 4 floor to ceiling glass panels will be, 2 of which will open. It will also have a door to enter from the kitchen and 2...

Conservatory lintel or not, that is the question!!

Hello I have checked in my local area that by building a conservatory 3x4 metres, double hip, leaving existing kitchen door/wall intact and not extending central heating I am within building regs. But I am confused by the actual build! The conservatory we want to build will have a double hip...

    Extension to 1920 house

We're not splitting the house in two, it is a small terraced cottage. It is not a 'special' house with no special needs persons. He is saying that because we are doing away with the bathroom as it is at present ie downstairs, we have to put a loo in its place because the drains are there and...

Seems as if I've started a slight debate! Maybe everyone should move to Within Dover DC, I quickly described what I wanted to do and the reply was instant - I don't need any permission, glass or otherwise!

Is this a conservatory or extension?

Hi Guy Thanks for all your help and advice but earlier today I phoned both planning and building dept of my local council which is Dover. They say as long as it is 4x3m accessed through the kitchen back door, which it will be, then I have no need for either departments permission. This is even...

Is this a conservatory or extension?

it will connect through a 'normal' grade door being the existing one from the kitchen. I thought maybe the amount of brick v glass would be an issue in determining conservatory or extension.

Is this a conservatory or extension?

I live in a small terraced house which has an 'L' shaped back patio. I would like to build onto the patio leaving the 'side' alone. I would come out of the existing back door and straight into the new build then access the garden by bi fold doors. The build will extend 3m from the house and 4m...
