What's the easiest fix here? Partition wall in garage

So, and the fact I'm asking these questions might mean I shouldn't be doing it, but are you basically saying do: Office Wall>VCL-backed insulation>garage wall.......and cross fingers?

What's the easiest fix here? Partition wall in garage

Really? Can you tell me why? From my side, I thought because the other side of the wall is going to be used, heated and then as such the warm air will be hitting the MUCH colder air on the garage side (the side you can see in the pic) that moisture will get caught in the insulation when I out...

What's the easiest fix here? Partition wall in garage

I've got a third of an inherited garage as an office...Finally removed everything on the other side. The other side of this picture is my little office and this is taken from the "cold" side (front) of the garage. As you can see I've exposed the stud frame from the garage side, and was about to...

Portable AC Unit - Do I refill?

Okay cool.....but I'm guessing all I need to do is clean filter and drain down the water every now and then as there's no filling of it.

Who/How can this be repaired? Telephone box on house

(sorry forgot to update the thread) So, weirdly whilst their telephone support was hideous, Twitter came to the rescue and they classified it as an "emergency" change...a guy came out within 4 hours and added a box. Job sorted, and for free!

Portable AC Unit - Do I refill?

Hi guys, I purchased a portable AC unit several years ago, and it was the best thing I've ever done for those hot muggy nights! However, it's been in storage for a while and now we're starting to use it again it got me thinking about legionella and other bacteria. I've reviewed the manual...

@securespark That would be great. There is no email in your profile so I've messaged your number instead :)

Who/How can this be repaired? Telephone box on house

Nope, not an active line. Broadband is via Cable, and we don't use landlines at all. Everyone is saying BT should be sorting this but they just keep asking if it's a "junction box" issue. When I ask them to tell me what exactly they mean (after I've explained the situation) I get hung up on...

Who/How can this be repaired? Telephone box on house

Worst comes to worst then, I'll rock up there and put it behind a plastic box to make it neat.

Who/How can this be repaired? Telephone box on house

Cheers guys. Yeah I know we don't NEED to fix it but it looks awful and we're about to put our house in the market. So, are you saying that this isn't a 'provider ' problem and just needs a diy solution?

Who/How can this be repaired? Telephone box on house

Hi guys I've tried Virgin and I've tried BT - both hung up on me when my request didn't fit a script they had in front of them (honestly!). So, birds must have gotten to the box that usually terminates the phone line to a house, as the box is no more and the wires are all over the place. Can...

    1 more! Replacing old switch

Hi Guys One more to do so thought I'd ask the brain trust again. Here is the old switch. It has 4 terminals and has live to C1, L2, whilst Neutral is on L1. My new switch has 3 terminals; Com, L1 and L2. How do I wire that up? I do have an intermediate switch available too with 4...

    Circuit with temperamental fuse

I know yes sorry - I was writing whilst waiting for somebody. Essentially when I use something nonconductive to 'tap' the fuse box responsible for the lights, on the consumer unit, the lights come on. It's like something is loose yes

    Circuit with temperamental fuse

Hey, We have a converted garage and a new circuit box was out in many years ago. We have found that sometimes the lights don't work in there. When checking the curricula box the circuit for the lights only has a fuse that is pushed in and doesn't have a trip attached. When investigating we...

Old Double Light Switch Replacement - Wiring Help

Sorry I was being facetious.....the "high sensitivity mode" means I didn't check the wires properly :)

Old Double Light Switch Replacement - Wiring Help

Another fun fact: I actually have one, and I "thought" I tested every wire....it wasn't in "high sensitive mode". I've learned my lesson :D
