I've just had a quote for re-tiling my bathroom. The total area to be tiled is just under 20m square, and the price I've been quoted is £800. I'm wondering is this a good price, the going rate or a tad expensive ?

Is there such a thing as a chemical or something that I could apply to tile adhesive to softens / dissolve it ?

Currently refurbing my bathroom.
Have removed the old tiles, but removing the old adhesive is proving a nightmare.
If I'm going to be re-tiling anyway, do I need to bother removing the old adhesive or can I just tile straight over ?

I assume that I will need to skim all the way from floor up to the ceiling to get a good finish, even though half of the wall was already skimmed previously ?
Also, on the half of the wall that is already painted, can I skim straight over...

Have decided to re-do the bathroom and want to do as much of the work myself as possible (even though I'm a novice).
