    Fixing to resecure exposed floorboards.

Morning, I have exposed floorboards in my living room and over the past few years I've noticed they have started to become a bit loose underfoot in places. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a decent fixing that won't be too much of an eyesore secure them back down please? Cheers in advance.

    My screed doesn't look right...

Evening, I've just laid some 3:1 sharp sand and cement screed on a small area of my kitchen floor and it looks different to how I expected. From the YouTube videos I watched it's more plain in texture and easy to feather, but mine seems very gritty with a look of concrete. Both the sand...

Cheers, I'll give it a go. Hand saw or jigsaw?

    Quick skirting question.

Not yet, the scribe is cut and in the picture the board on the right has been propped up to meet the elevated 9mm end. It does look slightly lower on the pic which wouldn't be good if secured.

    Quick skirting question.

Afternoon all, I've (DIYer) been fitting some skirting boards on my landing and notice an area where a section of the floorboards are uneven. IMG_9842 by paulalde posted 16 Aug 2018 at 4:51 PM As you can see from the picture the floor is out in the middle of the length raising either side by...

    Lining old casing with MDF.

Thanks for your response, I'm curious in what way could it look poor though? The arch and skirting is all MDF so if it was prepped and painted right would it not have the same finish as that? Cheer again for your response.

    Lining old casing with MDF.

I'm currently renovating my house and the internal door casings look like they have seen way better days. Replacing them isn't an option and I the amount of scuffed edges and dents would mean it would take some serious TLC to get them in shape. I was wondering if there would be any major...

    Stair handrail help.

Morning, I'm hoping someone may be able to help. I'm currently in the process of pricing up some stair handrails (wall mounted) for 2 flights of stairs and a separate horizontal run around 1m. I'm hoping to get a 3.6m and a 4.2m Hemlock HRD hand rail and use the off cut from the 4.2 for the...

One Strike for plaster drying cracks pre mist?

Evening, I'm planning on misting some fresh plaster this weekend (drying since before Xmas) and I noticed a few drying cracks by the timber door casings. Considering we had 2 landings and stairs done I'm happy to only find a few. I plan on racking them out a bit before applying some filler...

    Crown chimney pot cap help?

Ah I think I've misunderstood the build of crown pots. Assuming mine are like the one below which I found online then the cap sits inside on top of the the circular rim and then the 'legs' are thread through and tightened with the clip? crown pot by paulalde posted 21 Oct 2017 at 8:46 PM

    Crown chimney pot cap help?

Thanks Nige F, so you fit these around the top crown section of the pots, tighten up and that's it? I honestly thought you needed a special type for crown pots so this is really helpful. Thanks again
