Help: Macerator Toilet Pump and Patio

Hi all Really need your help. I’m laying a patio at the moment at the back of our garden. The plan is to have a garden room in the middle of this section (blue on pic). In preparation for this, The guys who did the groundwork’s dug a trench for services (electrics, water, waste pipe with...

What’s going on with this yoke?

i know three types of yoke - a mantle that you’d put on an ox which attaches to a plough - the hook at the back of shirt so you can hang your shirt (I think it comes from the word above) - and, in this instance, a commonly used Irish word to mean thinga-me-Bob or a whatcha-ma-call-it.

What’s going on with this yoke?

Thank you. Good advice. can I ask - is there a luminaire similar to the one I have but with a switch instead of a pull chord. It seems like a vulnerable part of the luminaire so I presume a switch is less vulnerable.

    Garden and Geotextile

Hi all Garden is in a jock after the builders were in doing the groundwork’s for a patio that I’ll be starting to lay in the next few weeks. Who knows how long it’ll take me. Anyway - I really don’t want the grass to grow. The so many rocks and stones, and mounds ….and one mountain. I have...

What’s going on with this yoke?

Thanks for that advice. what’s typically the problem with chord? Can it be fixed? Is it better to get a new luminaire? It’s a light put in under the stairs - something else might be more useful. Thanks for advice.

What’s going on with this yoke?

Hi all My understairs strip lamp has a pull chord. It’s acting up - hard to describe. The chord isn’t taking. Sometimes it pulls down but doesn’t click as it normally does and the light comes on. It flickers a bit. Could someone kindly advise how to progress please. I’m sure it’s something...

    Boiler Pressure Dop

Thanks everyone. Had the plumber here today. Still not impressed with the company that put it in originally - no permanent live, no isolation, and a good few other issues. New safety valve, pumped up expansion vessel, new (and proper) filling loop. We’ll see how it goes for the time being...

    Boiler Pressure Dop

Yes - dropping pressure has been an issue since install (10 years). It never went to 2.5 bar cold before. What's new is that the pressure is dropping to zero after the CH has finished a cycle (but not the Hot Water). What is also new is that when I pressurize to 1 bar (after its been at zero)...

    Boiler Pressure Dop

Passing? That means the stop valve isn't working (or else I'm not closing it tight). As I say - its been an issue for 10 years....what's new is that its dropping to zero after being topped up (and turned on) immediately - whereas before (last week) it wouldn't go to 2.5 bar cold at all...

    Boiler Pressure Dop

UNderstood. Final questyion - why is the pressure going up when the system is off. I pressurise to 1 bar. leave it (no heat on . no water on). and then its climbed (and stayed) at 2.5 bar? Thanks again for your time and efforts.

    Boiler Pressure Dop

Of course - I wouldn't touch it. Job for the professionals. After 14:30 today, I refilled to 1bar. After an hour it went up to 2.5 bar - and its stayed at that all day. I've everything turned off now heat and water - will see what happens tomorrow.

    Boiler Pressure Dop

Hi all, Have my plumber coming out this week to have a look but wanted to run the following by you guys: Flexicom 18sx - installed 11 years old. Annual service up to 2 years ago. Problems with pressure drops since the install - we only ever have hot water on (1 hour in morning every day and...

    Advice on wall finish

Thank you both for replies. Could you kindly talk me through that once more - as if you’re talking to a complete dummy!! Lol. Pic attached of what used to be there - a big concrete step flush with the door. The plan is to have a porcelain step 150mm below the threshold of the French door...

    Advice on wall finish

Thanks for that. Sorry - it must seem a silly question for you. Can I ask about the cill edge under the French door. There was a step which we removed - is there anything I need to do to finish it off properly.
