Thank you for your detailed response. I've been looking around today. And looks like the loft caps are the best where I can put the insulation on top. Which also avoids cutting gaping holes in the new insulation. thank you

Does anyone know the best product to cover these lights. I'd prefer ones you don't have to cut the insulation. Just put the covers on and insulation goes over. One of the links is for loft caps, but not sure it's a selling site. Those stall boxes I think you still have to cut the insulation...

It wasn't really an explanation though was it? The company who are fitting have said they will just cut 4 inch holes around each light. So I thought I would check myself. I will have a read of the info you sent.

Why can't holes be cut around them? Isn't the insulation fire retardant? And LEDs don't get that hot? Many thanks

This looks like it may be an expensive job. Considering we have 25 spots up there. Looking around £7 and above for a loft cap. I've seen somewhere about holes been cut around them? Many thanks Lea

Thank you for your reply. A joiner is coming in to do it for us. He suggested ply wood as he already has some off cuts. But I found that a pain to paint last time we had that (took loads of coats and looked quite cheap) wasn't sure if mdf or ply wood was good with poss condensation from hot...

The advert from oliverpl? I do actual remember the first coat we put on in one of the areas when we first started painting that the existing paint came off, so we had to sand and repaint. And obv now it's flaking, which is abit strange? Leanne

Yes well now I am thinking possible damp? It's an extension with a flat roof. So wonder if it's maybe got abit damp? Can't see any other signs of it tho apart from the flaking paint x

We have tried again with new drill bit for concrete and also Steele. Still not able to get any joy. It definitely has a tinny sound to it. If I was to put up a timber baton what am I best to stick it up with? Will no more nails actually work or is there something stronger out there you...
