How to tidy this rough patio edging....

Agreed its not ideal but can just whip the strimmer out for the edges the mower misses I guess.

How to tidy this rough patio edging....

I should note since that picture we have removed the two raised beds at the end of the garden as we want to level that out for a gravelled area in front of the shed and across the back (with the view to decking it in future years but just to be a quick fix for this summer).

How to tidy this rough patio edging....

Is it imperative that I bring it all level? The garden slopes somewhat and the patio is even higher compared to the grass level on the edge you can't see in the picture and so to bring it level with the patio will require a hell of a lot of extra earth.

How to tidy this rough patio edging....

Hello all, We moved in to our house in the winter and have left the garden untouched really so I'm finally turning my attention to the it now that weather is getting better. I'm planning on returfing thel awn but before I do that I want to rectify a pretty untidy job from whoever built the...

    Slightly loose floor tiles

There isn't a wobble all round the tiles in question, its a very very slight tap noise i can hear when you step on them in a specific part (and you can see where the grout has become loose). I'd rather not have to take the full tile up really if at all possible, would there be a solution where...

    Slightly loose floor tiles

Hi all, recently bought a house that has underfloor heating downstairs. It was installed when the house was renovated probably about 12 months ago. Cue us buying the house and moving in, i'm noticing with a couple of the floor tiles there is a very very slight tip/wobble when you walk across a...

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

I've just been firing things on and off manually before today but have today tried to keep a constant of around 17c throughout the day and our usage according to the IHD so far is around £9.50 today which is quite a lot (inc electric but ive only had the sonos on briefly and some lights...

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

So are you saying you have your thermostat set to come on at 18c all the time or 4c less than 18c?

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

The UFH services the downstairs which is an open plan hall, kitchen, living room, dining room and small downstairs bathroom. I'm not sure of the sqm'age of the lot but its not a huge house by any stretch. The thermometer on top of the elbow shows between 45-47c atm after my tinkering with the...

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

I tweaked it very slightly and could see the temp going up and down slowly so will have a play about with it to get a degree or two higher. The UFH to the best of my knowledge is in screed, yes.

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

Would turning the dial with ESBE on be the way to control temp?

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

Well blimey, what do i know! Haha. Does anyone know of a way in which I can increase the temp of my system? There is a temp dial on the UFH manifold that is reading at 45c constantly and I feel like i've read they can go to around 50c in most cases. Is it a case of increasing the temp on...

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

I don't believe so, no. It's an on-demand heating system. If it was connected to a stove/rayburn or similar then possibly but im not sure if that is even a thing haha but a good idea if possible.

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

To the best of my know ledge mine does not. Thanks for the thorough response. The house is a 1970's semi so not a new build. The boiler is upstairs and is a 9 year old Baxi Ecotec 28, we don't have any hot water tanks or similar. I would have assumed the UFH was on its own loop by default...

Splitting UFH from main boiler circuit

In the house we have just bought we have a Baxi combi boiler which powers UFH downstairs and radiators upstairs. One thing i'm not hugely happy with is how it is all on the same "circuit" (thats probably not the right name for it). It's all controlled from a Nest thermostat in the hall but it's...

Really confused about bedroom door sizes....

Would quite like to change the 4 doors upstairs in my house but having a massive headache figuring out which doors to order and where from. I have an account at Howdens (via a friend) and upon consulting their door brochure theres no sizes that they supply which are near enough the correct size...

    Topping up patio joints/grout...

I think i'll redo it with some of the VDW 800 Epoxy Mortar that comes recommended on Patio Expert in the next few months. One 25KG bucket should be enough for my top patio which is where it needs doing the most - its pricey though (£80 a bucket!). Just need to rebed 2 slabs first though as I...

    Topping up patio joints/grout...

That's annoying! There isn't a lot which has come out so I may just do some spot top ups with a wet mix when i've raked them out. Some of the joints are wider than others too. I imagine its going to be very difficult to get the colours to match aswell! If the current sand/cement dry mix...

New internal front door and redecorating

Hi all. We've got a small porch way at the front of our house which has UPVC French doors leading in then immediately in front of this in the porch is our main front door. Now the main front door is a very big wooden effort with some pimpled window panels around it which looks pretty rubbish...
