Electric shower - fill side inlet hole?

the left side of the shower where the electrical and plumbing connections happen doesnt have a small cover before the main shower cover. So the side inlet in theory can expose water to the connections…though the water would need to travel up. Could I not just wrap some silicon around the elbow...

Electric shower - fill side inlet hole?

It enters from the elbow…but only a slight side of the elbow is visible as it goes into the side.

Electric shower - fill side inlet hole?

I had a new electric shower fitted yesterday which replaced a really old one. As a result it was a different profile so the cold water inlet pipe was not completely covered by the shower housing. Instead, a little bit of the pipe elbow is sticking out from the side of the shower housing. I know...

    Backfill internal drain pipe

My old clay drainage pipe was replaced with a new PVC pipe underneath my hallway. The hallway floor was removed and the ground was dug up in small sections. The new drainage pipe was put on a bed of shingles and then once the pipe was in place, it was covered in more shingles. The ground...

Using a standard shower pump for the whole house

I am currently away but will confirm this soon. So are you saying that my hot water cylinder should have 2 pipes coming out of it? One 15mm for the shower and one 22mm for the rest of the house?

Using a standard shower pump for the whole house

Hmmm I was under the impression that the shower pipe was not a standalone pipe from the cylinder . I’ll need to look into this further

Using a standard shower pump for the whole house

So technically the pump will always be for the whole house then? If this is the recommended approach then I’m not sure why the manufacturers give 15mm hoses then as the cylinder feed will have 22mm pipes.

Using a standard shower pump for the whole house

The cold is from mains which is a pretty good pressure, just need the hot side (in particular the shower) to be better. I know I need a flange if I am pumping the whole house but do I need one if the pump will be used just for the shower and placed under the bath tub?

Using a standard shower pump for the whole house

So if multiple outlets were open then the worst pressure I would see would be the current pressure without the pump?

Using a standard shower pump for the whole house

I have a gravity fed system which consists of a cold water storage tank in the loft and a hot water tank on the ground floor in an airing cupboard. The hot water pressure on the ground floor in the kitchen and toilet is decent, which is expected as the water has a longer drop from the loft. On...

    Replacement water heater

It looks good but with the Ariston having adjustable controls and currently being on promo, I will take a chance on that. It’s a shame that there are not that many slim under sink water heaters on the market.

    Replacement water heater

Think I will just take a chance on the Ariston Aures one as that meets the spec, despite the mixed reviews.

    Replacement water heater

Hi, I have recently moved into a house that has an instantaneous water heater for the bathroom sink. The heater has stopped working so I am now on the lookout for a suitable replacement. The current heater is a Tritan TW10i which I believe is 9.5kwh. As this heater is no longer produced, I am...

    Which multi-tool to get?

They look surprisingly good for the money...pretty much all the features I was looking for and a 3 year warranty! I’ve no experience of Ferrex products before but I am hearing their multi tool is made by the same company that makes Einhell (not sure if that is a good thing or bad!) Would these...

    Which multi-tool to get?

Interesting you say that about Einhell when their kit is almost twice the price than a toolstation/screwfix one. There really doesn’t seem to be many decent choices within my budget other than whats already been mentioned. As for Fein having one for under £70...maybe in a random clearance sale...

    Which multi-tool to get?

How do they compare to say a bosch, einhell or worx that can be purchased within my budget?

    Which multi-tool to get?

Hi all. I am after a solid multi tool for general DIY tasks (nothing professional). The following are my preferences: - corded - variable speed - quick changing mechanism (no hex key) - dust extraction adapter - storage box to store tool, blades etc I’m looking to spend around £70, so I’m...
